CLASSIFCATION: Carp Waters- 42 inch landing net
This massive and underexploited water of 140 acres is a world designated nature reserve for wintering wildfowl. From an angling perspective it still offers fishing for relatively unknown fish with carp, perch, pike, tench and bream all being present, all of which can be found in specimen sizes and ensure a wonderful challenge for the carp or specialist angler. The small head of carp in the fishery, numbering around 75 in total, has about a dozen fish topping the 30lb mark. These include mirrors to 40lb and commons to 36lb.

Tench and bream have been caught to well into double-figures but larger specimens are still waiting! Predator fishing can be excellent with pike of over 30lb, eels over 5lb and perch over 3lb having been caught.

The venue has been under utilized by the anglers and we think it still has a surprise or two up its sleeve for the angler wishing to put in the effort.

A daunting prospect for any angler, but in reality this venue really is one to get your teeth into. With dozens of features, including tree-lined bays, shallow bars, snag-ridden corners, weedy expanses… to name but a few. Wraysbury truly is a specimen angler's dream that if fished well, might just turn your dreams into reality.
