hey guys, just about to give the thames a bash. i was just wondering where is the divide between the tidal and the non tidal? I'm thinking due to my lack of experience i'll start on the non tidal!

Very hard lately mate , I've done the normal perch zander piking etc , lures lives deads in all the places I've had them from before and nothing . Got the carp rods out one evening last weekin the mild weather , again in a spot that I've done well from recently for carp , and also nothing ! Done the barbel and chub thing again in the going swim and nothing either ! Last decent fish was a 19.1 common start of dec ! Hoping now the rivers losing all the floodwater and getting clearer I will be able to change some of that before the close ! Me and my mate have spoken to terry hearn over the last few weeks on the bank and he admits its not been easy either, which gives me some confidence knowing I'm not doing anything particularly wrong , they just don't wanna know ! Can't wait to finally meet some of you lads at the tac meeting on 28th feb , should be good laughs . Has anyone been catching lately or is it just me and my mates suffering ? Lol

no-ones having much success at the moment, if youre lucky and youve persevered, you might get a pull, it seems that every angler I encounter while walking the dog is busy blanking, the going perch swim is angler free a couple of days of the week, although when it isnt it doesnt produce the goods, only the odd pike, I think most people share your sentiments adrian and are being tempted to visit somewhere else.

dont forget folks, sign up on line to the thames anglers conservancy, its free, like most good things in life

Maybe I got lucky, but I managed a couple of nice chub from the river at Staines on Sunday.
Bread flake on the hook and liquidised bread in a feeder, fished down the edge close in (current was far to strong to fish anywhere else).
Started at Staines bridge and walked up to the M25, fishing any likely looking spots. A nice afternoon out.

Nice to hear someone has caught something, blanked the last two nights cub fishing on the Thames, once in the Staines area and last night further downstream.
River seems to be pushing very hard at the moment with a bit of rubbish, but not too much, mainly that mossy weed which is hard to get off of the line. Was very cold last night, wind was freezing when i packed up this morning!

Andy,
Got an application form for the Thames Anglers Conservancy from Mr Ball last night so will be sending it off when i get a chance.

great to have you onboard gary, collected daves form today, level had def dropped today, again it was that lovely green colour and it seemed a tad slower, there was a piker in the going perch swim, who like most was blanking, the wind was biting well 'ard
