View Full Version : Yateleys chosen ones?
It is apparent that every year on the car park only one angler seems to have been chosen buy the carp gods to rule the lime light. why steve this year ect. to follow on from little jon, tel, ball, maylin and woodrow etc. why? u dont have to list ur edges(well if u insist...) etc, for they must be hard to come buy on a lake like that, just some reasons...
He has his trusty dogs with him at all times to find the fish.
They are often seen sniffing around looking for Chunky and BO.
Simple - all the other full timers on there this year arent as good as him....
It really is that simple /forum/images/icons/smile.gif
Stavros is an excellent observant angler - the others (whilst some are probably good anglers) havnt put in half the work rate Mr Papadopolous has......really is that simple im afraid.....no rocket science (or edges as such)...

Yeap you always seen Steve walking round and round and round. with out doubt a top angler.
wot about his predesors, still hard graft and observation? wens it ur turn to be chosen lew...
the way i look at it (don't fish it but closely observe):
Really Big result - Full Time and Exceptional Angling and Slice of Lady Luck in landing 'em.
A Few Fish (Which is a technically a big result) - Lot of Time and Extremely good Angling and Slice of Lady Luck in landing 'em.
A couple of Fish - Lot of Time and very good angling and Slice of Lady Luck in landing 'em.
1 fish - Persistance and Good Angling and Slice of Lady Luck in landing it.
No Fish - A lot of extremely successful and good anglers fail to catch on the place despite what appears to be doing everything right.
Size and pressure on the place means that unless you are full timing you will simply not get the opportunities presented to you for a big result. And even if you do would have to fish very well to take them.
Keep telling us that Lewis, and we'll start to believe you /forum/images/icons/smile.gif

Stavros definately has to be the most mobile (which is pretty difficult on the CP) this year. It is very difficult for weekenders to up and move to fish, as most if not all swims are occupied, therefore nowhere to move to !!!
Stavros also has the benefit of it not being his first season, therefore info (and some impressive captures) gained prior to this impressive season.
But the long and short of it is as lewis quite rightly said, he is by far the best full timer this season.

i agree, that steve has done an incredible amout of work this year, and the rewards have come but the question i would ask is that with the likes of simon croft, steve fudge, little john & tom banks, not fishing this year it would take some piece of angling to do what steve has done with the quality of anglers on there, in previous years, the fact is steve, to a certain degree has been consistant throughout the year in every approach he has done, he has really had no one to complete with who has the same approach as he has, but taking that aside, to do what he has done, with the amout of anglers on there now is a excellent result, time, watercraft & knowledge of the lake do help, put them all together in the right sequence and it equals a result, with a little luck for good measure.(getting the right swims at the time they are having it )
I go with Brumster on this one. Stavros IS a superb angler without question, and has got the sequences spot on this season, and has maximised the oportunities. He's "made" things happen rather than waiting for them to happen.
Lets not forget JC, he must be close on numbers of fish banked this year.

How well did Fudge and Simon Croft do full time on the car park lake the year before? Low pressure, lack of people - would just like to know....

if i remember rightly, fudgie banked one of the commons, the pineapple, ugloe and arthur at 51lb, si managed to bag three, one of the commons, the pineapple & the big orange @ 44lb,
at the time there was still alot of pressure on there, dave ball, tom banks doing a bit of time on there as well as some of the regular full timers. fudgey was working for the summer, but declined to take a JOB for the rest of the year untill winter, si also manged to catch bazil in the same season as well, plus pass his degree top result.

oh the only thing people did different was to spend more time on there than him!!
LOL....he was there every work night.... so he deserved the fish for effort.......... i could wax lyrically aout his baiting but the Fishydave storys published earlier in the year did that well enough...http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

spot on m8 - first season on there and four bites, although i'm sure the pi55 taking is in jest, isn't it about time FD was given a break?

Hey Mr Miller, I wasn't partaking in the systematic slaughter of FD, like I said, he deserved all of them and full credit to him for the effort. I'm also sure that FD knows that no mirth was meant on my part.
FishyD for most of the year had to pack up at 6am before bite time so he deserved it to fall right for him a few times....and that's exactly what happened. (or I put him on fish!! http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)
Big up the FD, he will be missed next year.
And as for more nights than him.....hmmm think FD is in the top 5 for nights clocked up http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Jamie
Well said jonmiller.....give the poor bloke some slack....hes done better than...erm...cough....another CP angler on this forum this year....and hes relatively new to the lake...unlike, erm....said CP angler on here!!

was trying only a week ago to persuade dave to stay, he may get ripped, but then we all do, the CP is a p%$$ taking jovial place.
Go on Dave, renew, you know you want to !
And, Rolfie, if you offered the arkright against Heather, most would opt for Heather I'm sure, not trying to take anything away from the skill and determination and quality bait from the FishyDavester http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Fishy D will be back. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif
And you take the stick well for a young boy. Good on ya for catching 4 fish in ya first season. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
