The match is pretty difficult at times (well for me anyway!), although now would be the time to get on it.
Feature wise, weedbeds, snags and islands are always good there, as too are any marginal features. Stalking can always be worth a try in the summer.
Not really an expert on the place as I only started fishing it last spring, I'll be down there most of next week as its getting to that time now.

There arent really many bars in there, not that I know of anyway although there is one bar or raised gravel area in front of the golf tees swim about 40-50 yards out. I have never really done much plumbing there so Im not sure as to the depth of the bar but I know its there.
Its quite a good area and often fished as well as the island on the left hand side of the swim. One rod on each would be a good idea.

I fished on the Match lake Friday & Saturday without sucess although the guy I was fishing with managed to lose a bream of about 2lb in the middle of the night! - quite a few of the big fish had been out earlier in the week according to one of the baliffs - Can't remember the names of the fish but one guy had a 28 and a 30 something on Thursday night and a fair few others had been out earlier in the week. Nothing was caught Friday night probably because I was on the lake!
