Okay, surely everyone who wears glasses or contacts will agree it is a major inconvenience on a fishing session. The delights of messing with contact lenses with dirty hands and a postage stamp sized mirror, fumbling for my glasses under the bedchair whilst trying to play a fish, etc, etc.

Considering laser treatment to get sorted once and for all, priced it up at about a grand. Not bad considering a decent set of specs is £200 and i got through a set every 18 months or so.

Anyone had this done, any "yes, this changed my life" stories?

Friend of mine Kim had it done and she's well happy with the results. Had to take it easy for a few days, no driving etc, but she was in and out the clinic the same day no messing.

Money well spent I would say.

Alas, not an option for me, apparently due to a slight stigmatism in my left eye......./forum/images/icons/frown.gif

i've got a friend who is a surgical consultant.....according to him hardly any of the laser operations carried out in the UK have a 100% success rate - most people are still left with a small defect in their sight, which quite often deteriorate and you end up wearing weak glasses again eventually...and the op can only be done once.

so think very carefully before going ahead....

only going on what the doc said.....would suggest your dad checks it out with relevant medical people.....i stand corrected if you can have it done twice...
