After someone had walked into the office, covering the carpet with dog poo not he had inadvertedly trodden in (not very pleasant), someone raised this question -
Does anyone know why you never see white dog poo anymore, used to be quite common twenty years or so ago ??
Any ideas.
Apologies to all those that won't have a clue due to their age.
hello mate,
i have reacently observed some white poo,it is still about.
the stuff i haven't seen for years is the white hairy stuff.....
I think the reason for this is that most owners now take it home with them................a bit selfish i feel as poo connoisseurs like myself miss out ..../forum/images/icons/wink.gif
"keeping it hairy and chalk like"
There was me thinking I am the onlt dog poo conosewer in the world how about forming a society Scaley ?. As for the hairy stuff its only found during a heavy dew I think the poo gets cold and is trying to keep warm.
"keeping it soft and smelly"
I have seen this question before somewhere actually, can't remember the answer but its something to do with diet, and something that used to be in their food that no longer is?????????
Hang about.... search google for 'white dog poo'
Ah ha, here we go....
god knows why
and more

you would be shocked to know that search returned 20 matches
apparently this is the reason why its white..
"Natural dog poo is mostly white powdered bone about one third the volume of the artificial stuff. The foul excrement on the soles of our shoes is indigestible cereal and bacteria, the end product of unnatural feeding.
"Natural cat poo turns white too and it does not stink. Flat dwellers are ecstatic when they discover this fundamental truth concerning the cat litter tray.
nice......

I am the white dog poo painter, unfortantly, due to a broken wrist, sustained while casting to the horizon, i have no longer been able to continue my work.
Apologise to all concerned.
i'm pretty sure you'll find as with all things that get a bit old they retire to the coast...... i recently was exposed to the unpleasant site of at least four dozen of the aforementioned 'white poos' whilst visiting an elderly relative at west whittering......does this sitting give some credibility to my idea?.........is this why there is such a shortage in built up areas?
perhaps some of our more southerly based friends on the site can confirm this theory?
This thread has really made me chuckle.......
I have to agree with Jutslut.....White poo's seem to be relegated to coastal areas only now. I was lucky enough to find a white'n'hairy too...looked like a baby seagull!!

Darwin dictates that the white poos will migrate south coast to camouflage themselves againt chalk cliffs. 'Survival of the fittest' has become ever more apparent in this age of "caring" dog-walking executives and their inturned carrier bag poop gloves...
Perhaps when there's frost on the ground, an army of the furries will rise from the depths in rebellion and push park wardens to suicide?
Also why does white poo float and brown poo sink?
