View Full Version : WAR
What are your views on the impending America-Iraq situtation?
Do you feel we should go to war?
I'm unsure at the moment, I feel this could've been solved the 1st time around when he should've been taken out then.
At my work place we have a T.A member and he's currently on stand-by.So it looks more than likely it will kick off.
like you i am not to sure they must have alot of info that they only know to think about attacking them again mind you they should off finished the job off back then
if iraq if a threat to world safty then yes they should go for it but if it is one of bushes war around the world tour then it would be wrong but lets see the proof first

Don't you think it is a little more scary that the lunatic that is HEAD of IRAQ could have nucular weapons. Because if i'm honest it S***S the life out of me. I don't care that the experts say he doesn't have launch capability's. I say give them a warning that the normal people can leave then flatten the lot.

no to war,
too many innocent people get hurt/killed and they never seem to get the bad guy!
no the scary think this at nutter has the capability to launch a missle into northern europe by next year and with bin hiddin still about whos to say what will happen?
now thats scary
WAR please
get him before he gets us !
My personal view is he must be stopped along with all the other peace threatening Countries...
there is NO place on this Earth for people like Sadam and Bin Laden they are out and out Terrorist with immense power in the Arab world who hide behind religion to act out there atrocities................and for all the antis !!!!!.....don't you remember sept 11th..........what will be next...????
a nuclear device in London ??????.....if Sadam is allowed to carry on making his weapons of destruction,do you honestly think he will think twice about using it himself or letting some other Terrorist organisation ( Bin Laden??) use it against the West..........ummmmmmmmmmm i don't think he would loose much sleep over it.
Looks like all the other Arab Countries are against America attacking Iraq, so I dont think war will actulally happen without the consent of certain key countries.
I would think this would cause ww3 if America just went in. I think that Iraq needs to change from within.
It would be a major "all time" embarasment if there are no weapons to be found.
Martin,
do you honestly believe that there would be no weapons to be found ???
Ex "weapons inspectors" who's knowledge I would think is better that most suggest that there are no "nukes" but maybe "chem's" but there is "quote" lot's of oil
Martin
Martin,
I think you hit the nail on the head with the word OIL the yanks want nothing to do with anything that does not effect them, there is no sign if them getting involved in conflicts just to the east where the major exports are oranges and other foods but as soon as oil supplies are threatened then they are in like a shot. Forget about countries that MIGHT have 'nukes' or 'chems' in reality nearly every country has access to one or the other.
do you realy think that bush and our tony who are both elected to the offices would send in poeple to be killed for some oil???? sounds more like electeral sucide to me and don't forget the iraqs spent a lot of effot hiding these places from the weapon inpestors and they chunked them out as well does that sound like someone who has nothing to hide?
As long as it dont effect my fishing i dont give a [censored]!!!
Tend to lean to the cynical oil and political gain (how long till electios - the electorate love gun ho nutters it seems)

WAR... da na da...what is it good for...
ABSOLUTLY NOTHIN !
sorry... couldnt resist....
Saddam may be a tyrannical dictator but he's no simpleton. He, as with most despots, primarily out to line his own pockets. Were he to master the technical difficulties of creating icbm's he knows full well that he would recieve a lot worse back. The threat of iraq to us is laughable. they are an economically crippled backwater partly due to saddams actions partly due to our trade sanctions, which offer saddam an excuse to his people of the countries struggles.
It is also a mite hypocritical to merrily beaver away creating our own biochemical nasties whilst threatening anybody else who dares do likewise.
Unfortunately we have a habit of turning a blind eye to dictators who supress others of little economic worth to us. e.g. the east timor situation. I think our priorities should lie with brokering a sustainable peace in the middle east, which would require america having the courage to stand up to the powerful jewish lobby at home. If we insist that we have a moral right to attack anybody who poses a threat to us we are giving licence to others to act in a similar way. If we attack iraq under the pretence of fighting terror we cannot say that israel have no right to do the same in palestine. For israel to go on a full on military assault on palestine deposing arafat etc. would potentially precipitate one f**k of a big war in the middle east.
why should our soldiers get killed in iraq, most likely by americans, when what is needed is decisive political pressure and a bit of courage by the leaders to swallow some flak at home.

political pressure?
think thats been tried for a long time now?
afghanistan, didnt get the main man (bin) but that country is in a far better place than it was.
hundreds of thousands of iraqi ppl are not allowed to say one way or the other, for fear of having these weapons of mass destruction used against them (AGAIN).
he should have been taken out before, YES!!!
he must be taken out now, YES!!!
SEPT 11 was too much, time for talking, i belive has gone.
its time for action, at what ever cost.
