I wanna try river carping, i live in upminster essex but dont know where to go, also i dont drive so cant drive for hours! any reccomendations there dont need to be mahoosive fish in there but some sort of size to make it worthwhile! upper doubles at least!?

Nice fish in certain stretches and not far from you 20 minutes at the most.

I would say there are 20's in both, but expect to walk to find them mate, even if you find someone who does fish there i guess they wont spill the beans to the location

LOL - Some BIG fish in the Chelmer now, you just need to know where to look :)

yeah well i wasnt expecting to just turn up and catch big fish, get ut what you put in and have to work for them!

Plenty in the Suffolk Stour if you are prepared to go slightly further afield.
Check out Neil Wayte's river carping book there are good chapters on the Stour & the Gipping
