What are the best methods to try on South Lake during the colder months? Any particular areas of the lake produce well at this time of year /

the south lake is easier than kingsmead during the winter months.

by all accounts that willow is a good swim all year round. either opposite or fishing alongside it gives you a good view of the water.

if you fish alongside the willow (ie on the end of the point) beware the swans. we had more than a few wipeouts!

it is still (marginally) easier than mead 1. frimley would still be first choice for a day out - pit 2. few nice commons in there now...

hi all,

me and a mate fished it last week, using the same method as ian likes, crumbled up cream cajouser`s and pellet, i had only one run, and my mate had a lovely lookin fish 20+ mirror, but the hook pulled at the net.. gutted, the one that got away hey!! that ws all we had, but the fish seem to be very active, topping quite often, and there must have been at least 15+ fish showing themself in the snags, but i just couldnt get em to take a bait..
if anyone fished it keep us posted how you get on as im trying to get back up there, but its a bit awkward living in portsmouth, and having just lost my driving licence.. anyway best of luck if u do fish it..
