Hello matey.

get yourself down to a Richer Sounds........and have a play, they normaly have a room out the back so you can try all different combinations out.........i personally own mostly Denon gear with a Dirty Yamaha p.a amp and a lovely set of Cerwin Vega bins.............the neighbours love it /forum/images/icons/wink.gif

Speakers, Amp & Interconections are the three most important things in a decent system - you can make a crappy source sound reasonbly good through a good amp and speakers but you will never get a quality source unit to sound good through a crappy amp or speakers.

Have a look at www.whathifi.com as they have a good buyers guide and lots of helpful info. It's also worth buying a copy of the magazine when you are about to splash out and buy something as very often shops will advertise "magazine specials" which you could save you a bundle.

Also, decide what you want your system for. Is it to pump out loads of dirty bass or are you after a more subtle, true sound reproduction?

HTH,

Tom

I've got a big 400wpc Rotel amp (circa 1972, all chrome and veneer) and H+H Dual concentric twin 15" PA bass speakers and my neighbours absolutely hate me (and I live in a detached house)

Buy British is the advice i have always been given - me Bros. has a full Audiolab setup and it is the don......pure sound quality - and quality components (UK power rating is different to the Oriental type - if 15w output on UK rating would be rateed at 45 by our eastern friends!!!)

the limit of my knowledge
