sam
hi,
samr, i could start winding him up?
James
Richard,
Get yourself some carp mags,(they're NOT the ones under Dad's bed),and 'shop' around!
There are so many bargains about it's unreal. For under £100 you can get a decent enough bivvy. The Giant one has plenty of features for example.
When you get into the swing of night and/or session fishing you can upgrade..........big words coming from someone who's first bivvy's a Viper I know, but I got lucky, before the fact's pointed out!
The Leeda dome,£69.99.......Cypry dome,£70.00...etc..

I thought you were going to the sale at Thorpe Park. There were plenty there from £50 upwards. Why not contact the bivvy hospital and see what they have got to offer. The old style Limpets certainly looked good. Alternatively look at the adverts as Smarts has suggested. I have seen loads of basic ones from £59.99 upwards advertised in Total Carp ( page 3 of the March issue for example). They are made for Keenets and available from all their stockists.

How about going for a retro look? as I still have one of the old canvas brolly camps!!! /images/forum/icons/laugh.gif/images/forum/icons/laugh.gif
what the hell is that fatboy
Me too! Is everyone gonna laugh at me? Sod it, who cares.
Hi,
Also what are you going on about fatboy?
James
They wouldn't even be able to lift one of those,Fatboy!!
Smarts
So you youngsters have never lived /images/forum/icons/laugh.gif, but Loki you are only 2 years younger then me so I thought you might know!!/images/forum/icons/wink.gif
Guess I'm showing my age here, but here goes.
Put up a standard brolly (parasol at the pub style ie not angled or anything). The sling the brolly camp (which is a large circle of canvas) over the brolly to form a "quaint green igloo shaped structure" which is secured around the circumference of the canvas with tent pegs. They were the DB's at the time and had a zip up opening!!!!!!!
And Smarts, you are dead right they probably could'nt lift one of them. No tackle barrows in those days.
When I were young, I would walk for miles with the all me gear slung over me shoulder blah blah......

Hi,
I understand now.
James
Of course I know fatboy! I've just given mine a coat of fabsil sealant for the new season!
Actually it isn't that heavy (or I'm just sooo strong, lol) and is less bulky than a bivvy + bits & bobs. Youngsters today eh? no stamina!
You forgot to mention that they always leaked at the seams when it rained /images/forum/icons/smile.gif
Tony
But when we were young it never rained! At least I can't remember it raining. The sky was always blue and the fish always queud up to get on the hook...............
and hot as hell in the sun!!!
Spent two hours looking for a bivvy in one of my dads mags smarts, could not find one in there, surely bizzare dwarfs six vol2 sells bivvies (lol)
TWO HOURS,Maximus.....you must have been reading the 'interesting articles'..!!
