Hi Gents, can anyone give me some info on the water conditions on the Thames, going to get the boat out on Monday and Tuesday, hopefully for a go at the Perch.
I don't think it will be suitable for perching. I've just got back from a short session near Chertsey Bridge and it is hammering through and carrying a lot of colour. And a lot of last night's rain will still be opn its way into the river. I managed a jack plus a bream and a tiny little bullhead. The only other angler I saw blanked.
Same to report as above. The people I spoke to perch fishing yesterday all blanked. Its dirty and pushing too hard.
Fished with mate from my boat on its berth in the marina and had half a dozen pike largest was 11lb but the others were much smaller,Lost a heavy fish first thing on a live roach.
Went this morning very confident but to be honest it was not as good as i expected as when the river is up and coloured like this it is normally a banker for a couple of decent pike and some very large perch to,Mind you if i had landed the first fish the day could have been a memorable one steve.

don't think so, i thought the river was the colour of 'baileys' and was flowing just faster than walking pace...i know this as i took a walk along the river this morning

The barbel are feeding well but if you want predator fishing give Ol' Esox a go with some smelly deads in the slacks.. Good luck..
1 decent bream, 3 ruffe, a perch and 2 skimmers on the feeder this morning. Looks v good for a barbel. V poor for perch still - though chopped worm could work I guess.
