View Full Version : Carp anglers at Yateley
I have heard a lot about bad carp anglers at Yateley over this web site I would like to know if you have run into any of these people I know there is only a small amount of them but its something I would like to know about and I would like to know if you have any suggestions on should be done with these people.
I am sorry if I seemed unfair I only targeted yateley to find out if what I have heard is true I know it happens at most carp waters at my local Tynhersh on the specimen lake the baliff's
were like it. The main thing I wanted to hear about was the carp anglers respect for each other no matter how they are fishing if they are stalking or fishing at range. I have only heard one complant from another carp angler who fished there and it was because of others fishing at range apart from that I have heard a lot of good things. I don't want to go to yateley and find that is what Tynhersh used to be like because Tynhersh is a trouble free zone know I know I can go and stalk using Chris Yates sytle methods or fish at range knowing there is not going to be abuse shouted at me. I am sorry if I was being out of order Ian.
Alex,
It is not only Yately in fact the Yately complex is pretty good with the attitude of most of the carp anglers... also Alex it is not only Carp anglers that are selfish. I have found over the years that some people only a minority tend to think they are better than other people in what they do, be it carp angling, fishing for Barbel or pole and maggot. Unfortunately in this world we are going to get this where ever we go, as for Yately as I said, there isn't from my experience a major problem. I haven't been there for a while though so things may have changed... but I doubt it.

No, things haven't changed!! Before I started fishing Yateley I heard all sorts about it, and about the lads fishing it being a right clicky bunch, and real hostile. So I never really bothered with the place until I started meeting a few people who fished it. Now I'm over there, I can safely say I have never enjoyed my fishing more, and this is mainly down to the social, (and also some excellent fish and fishing!!) Its a good crack and definitely not what I expected it to be from what I had "heard" on the grapevine.
Pukka complex with pukka people!
Never had a problem at Yateley in three years........the people writing into this area of the forum in particular are carp anglers, some from yateley.......and they don't seem too bad do they?!
Smarts
Si you seem like a guy that knows yateley well is it easy to find out the fish feeding pattens on the match because at Tynhersh it has taken nearly a whole season to work out how the fish behave most people don't belive me but only a few mounths back I worked out the routes the fish take around the lake, feeding spots and all the areas where the fish sit when no one else can locate them but when I fished papercourt at the start of the season it drove me insane trying to work out where the fish were I even nearly gave up fishing over it what I don't want is a lake where it is not going to take a year to find all these behavior pattens. I still don't want to leave Tynhersh after all that work and no landed fish all season but I want a water where I can night fish for two or three days. What do think I should do?
