View Full Version : Winter Kennet
Im going down the kennet next tue and i don't know wat to do! Barbel, chub, pike! We are going to the newbery strech's!
Iv only ever fished the strech's in the summer and have had some cracking fish!
So has any one got any advice they could give me? What Should i do?

Watch the weather, if its still mild give the Barbel ago, hopefuly after the rain this weekend there should be some decent colour in the water. Was at Burgfield yesterday, looked ideal, very mild with strong sw winds, tried a couple of known swims yet blanked. If its cold then go for the Pike or Chub and try roving to cover loads of water.

You could also add big perch to that target list. Where abouts are you fishing? I'm a TAA and NAA member so assume you'll be going as a guest with a member from one of those clubs if you're fishing around Newbury - (unless you're hitting some of the free bits - which don't have too much in the way of barbel)...

we went to the lower benyons on the 90degree bend! No one caught any thing apart from me! I ended with a nice chub of 4lbs!
