Not a big UFC fan, a bit too WWF for me now. I prefered it in the old days when there were no rounds and very few rules. Also bit too much ground work now. Have you seen K1?, now theres a martial arts competition!

Havent seen PRIDE yet, is it only pay per view or can you get it on sky? Just did a search for puro and got a load of Mexican art galleries!! Dont think thats right some how. What is it??

I've never heard of k1 or puro, although I've seen some pride's
on dvd.I't's a bit like the early ufc but in a boxing ring and only one round.

puro is puroresu or japanese wrestling, it's a beautiful mix of the pagentry of old school wrestling and the stiffness of shoot fighting - the result is scripted, yes, but the action is f'ing brutal, literally makes you cringe... eg, in us pro wrestling you're not supposed to make contact with punches, in puro you break the other bloke's cheekbone and keep hitting... they're also inclined to dropping people on their heads several times in a match, hence the high casualty rate. anyone seen that cage fighting thing? apparently you're locked in a cage until only one is conscious/alive... sounds fun.
