I remember a brilliant illustrated talk by Paul Boote at one of the NASA conferences back in the late '80s. The pictures & tales of Golden Mahseer fishing were awesome.
I know he & John Bailey made a T.V. film of one of their trips, which ended in the capture of a 70lber.
I believe John also does guided hols as well. Have a look at the Angling Travel / Dream Fishing Website. A bit pricey but plenty of Rubies to eat while your there.

Paul Boote and Jeremy Wade wrote an absolutely gripping book on fishing for mahseer and the goliath tigerfish in the Congo: 'Somewhere Down The Crazy River' Sangha Books 1992 ISBN 0 9517900 0 5

...yes, SDTCR is an amazing read. In an equal first place with "A River Never Sleeps" by Roderick Haig-Brown.
