i only started ellis in late sept 2 nights then a couple of nights in oct just to have a look around in a boat ,my mate had a 22+ in the oct session next year ill give it ago,do you fish there?
Yes...I have fished Ellis a few seasons...some very nice fish...proper english big pit carp. May give up my ticket though next year due to all the new rules regarding boats...as I usually fish solo they are basically ruling me out of the picture if I want to use a boat. I would very much like my Craypool ticket back though...most stupid thing I did this year was not renewing that!
yes the rules are for groups any pointers if you pull of would be welcome
as far as the cray goes give ian a ring you might get lucky for next year be lucky
Ian,
you should not struggle on Ellis, the fish are very easy....you just have to find them! As you have a boat this is usually easy, they are very typical pit fish, they follow all the rules of wind / sun etc. and when you find them they are usually in groups. They have responded very well to pre baiting in the past. The fish aren't rig shy at all in my experience. They aren't particularly shy of boats as you would imagine, and I have been known to drop a bait within 5' of a fish, the take followed in the next 5 mins. When you do find them shoaled up be prepared for hectic action!
The fish can be caught on floaters the favourite area is in the lagoon.
Hope this helps.
cherrs mate for the info be lucky where you go
