Andy,
So what makes a proper cat angler ?
John seems to catch what ever he targets, I'd say that makes him a great angler, and god help us if he ever decided to target just one species.

John hasn't been targeting cats,
he has always been happy with whatever comes along, fair play to him.
he's happy with the tench, bream etc etc
while other people specifically targetting cats with lives and deads etc i would class as proper cat anglers, lol
i didn't say he wasn't a great angler, he is, and i'll be the first to take my hat off to him and shake his hand as i have done,.
Bob this is harmless banter between us BP lads so it's not a personal attack ok,
andy
and i believe he is now targetting one fish, although i think he is the only one who wants to catch em,,,,,,lmao
Congratulations to John "Cat Whisperer" Prentice. If anyone deserves that fish it is that man. I'd love to say I taught him everything he knows, but its the other way around...
And if you think the Whisperer is not targeting cats you have fallen for his ruse !

I don't know about "pinch", if you carry on catching all the biggies, it will be more like "punch"

Well done mate, a cracking fish, well deserved.
All the best,
Mike.
Well done. Did it pull your string?

It was the hardest fight I had ever had from a fish ! I was only fishing at about 30yrds and the cat fought every inch of the way out to the middle of the lake when it got there I turned to Mark Nichols and said ' why the F#*£ people want to go big game fishing is beyond me. At one stage I was loving it but at the same time I just wanted it to end.
This is not an advert but I have to say ESP Raptor T-6 hooks in sizes 6/7/8 are unbelievably strong for their size and I don't think they can be bettered for pop-ups.
