I had a look at Theale on Saturday. I don' think the new carp park is quite ready yet.

Three of us did three nights on Theale last week, you are right about that car park, it's miles!

Secret squirrels on there aren't they!

No secrets from me Ian! Lake one.

We fished the Kennet bank, I saw two fish. One head and shoulder at about 5 yds and one rolled at 45yds. We all caught tench, no carp.

Nice lake with a lot of potential, I would love to know what is really in there. We went the opposite from the regulars ie: bait and mainly fishing open water. The trend seems to be under the rod tips. There was one out during our time on the lake, looked a low double.

Weedy from about 50 yards out with small clear patches. Closer in two pronounced gravel strips with odd silt patches around. Margins very nice with fallen willows etc. Top bay looked very nice but we didn't see anything up there during our time on the lake.

On reflection not the best time to tackle a new lake but it only takes one bite to change that perspective.

Next time maybe.
