View Full Version : Fishers Green Lakes
Has anyone out there got any ideas about the carp stocks (and other fish in there) as I'm considering a campaign on there next season.
Thanks
Hi Andy, I have watched the carp in the top lake for years now! About eight years ago I saw a very large carp on the 15th of June. I estimated it at about 30lb it was to the left of the 'Grebe hide' I have not seen it or a large fish in the lake since. There seem to be a few high doubles that tend to lurk around the spit on the top lake under the pylon walking up the river from the top car park. I have also seen fish swimming through the narrow gap to the right of the 'Grebe hide'. The problem is that so much of the lake is either not on our ticket or unfishable. The relief channel seems a better option as the fish show more regularly there below the grand weir. There are some big shoals of Bream and Tench again June is the best time to spot them, generally in the same areas as the carp. I get the feeling it is hard, however nightfishing should make the difference.
Regards Rich.
Thanks for the info chaps, seriously considering giving it a go next season, I'll keep you posted as to developments
The 'screamer baits' boys did well on there though.

Hello Pete,
Nice to see you on the net, how about asking some of the other lads to write something about the Green, who have fished it for years.
Say Fred on swing tipping or Steve/ Gary on piking, lets open it up so that others can benifit from all that knowledge.

Some years ago i seem to remember that the Leisure Sport handbook included a plan of 70 acre lake showing depths etc. I think it was on the back cover. Is this plan still available?
