Can anyone help me please and put forward some Day Ticket Waters that are in and around Surrey. I'm fed up of Old Bury Hill and Furnace Lakes and fancy a change. Any info much appreciated,

Cheers Planky

Try Whitevane!
Its run by the same guy who owns Furnace. It's a nice 10 acre lake surrounded by woodland. It has 3 Islands, pads, deep margins etc... I think it has something like 100+20's, 20 of these going 30+ and 1 getting around the 40lb mark!!!
Well worth a go, but it does get busy

Don't think you can beat South Lake or Sandhurst at Yateley.

If you are just after small fish and Carp up to mid-doubles, there's always Epsom Stew ponds, but don't bother with it at weekends or during the school holidays.

South or Sandy if its an RMC water you are after.. both lakes are quite different so it's worth checking out the venues page here to have a look at them..

<a target="_blank" href=http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/dt_venues/yateley_sandhurst.phtml> Sandhurst </a>
<a target="_blank" href=http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/dt_venues/yateley_south_lake.phtml> South </a>

Just down the road over by Reading you've also got <a target="_blank" href=http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/special_venues/burghfield_match_lake.phtml> Burghfield Match Lake &amp; Blue Pool </a>

if you are on a mid week session then Swan Valley, although not an RMC water, is also producing well and beginning to look good under a new management team...... the weekends are hectic on there still though

Check out Yateley Angling's <a target="_blank" href=http://yateleyangling.co.uk/venues/index.phtml> Venues Guide </a> for info on Sandy, South, Swan and others..

There are, but there are also a lot of big fish! My mate first fish out of there was 19lb 12 oz, were as mine was 12lb - that's the way it goes sometime's. I've only fished it twice and both time's i have been there, both in Winter, i've seen two different 30's on the bank - one ws 31lb and the other 34lb both lovely imaculate Mirrors, so they do exsist - I've seen them!!

Theres a lot of waters in and around surrey, go to the crawley angling web site for lakes in that area. There must be over 100 good carp lakes in Surrey. Take a look at my web site for more info

You could also try Godalming angling society,as they have two very good carp waters.Broadwater is a fantastic lake for doubles with a possibillity of a couple of twenties.Enton large also has a large head of carp topping 30lb's now with plenty of twenties and doubles.

broadwaters even produced two seperate 30's aswell in the last year or so, and no longer a waiting list - but that joining on fees a [censored]

Jut,
I honestly dont beleive that Broadwater has produced fish anywhere near 30lb mate. 24/25 at a push. "0's are rarer than rocking horse dung, relative to the number of fish caught, and all 20's I know of have all be scrapers. More likely a mistake with the avons.

Going down on Sunday, with one rod so hopefully I am wrong!

Oh it has Garth, i know a few of the Baliffs on there, in produced two different 30+ mirrors the season just gone, both were caught Feb time of off the Road bank

Last year Garth I had a fish out of broadwater that went 28.07 on rubens, which I know are spot on,so there certainly are fish of that size in there, the problem is getting though all the doubles to get em!

Garth
17-07-2002, 16:21
Oh fair enough lads, like you say, tough to get through the smaller fish.

Jutslut

tuff! h8 to think how many fish you need to get through to even see a twenty!!! never had one after years of trying relinquished the permit in the end.....ahh heady days /forum/images/icons/crazy.gif

I go down 8-9 times a year to get some action and test rigs and bait stuff out. Wicked fun. Never had a 20 though. My mate girlfriend took up fishing seriously last year and had had 3 from there already /forum/images/icons/frown.gif

i don't get enought time ti fish but when i do get a chance to chuck a line in for a bit of a pastie bash the fish ain't that bad, lots of upper doubles but only something like 50 20's out of prob 3000 fish!!

joe32
18-07-2002, 10:07
Yeah your right dave there ainbt that many 20+ fish in there.
Quite a few that are caught do seem to come from certain area's though,me and a mate last year had 4 between us and they all came from the same swim and I know of at least another three from that swim.

fishydave

Most of the biggies seem to come off of the road bank - or towards the Safe area from what i can tell!

joe32
18-07-2002, 11:32
Not the area I was thinking of Dave.

Tell me, tell me, Im going for the day on Sunday! LOL

fishydave
18-07-2002, 16:17
I know for a fact the two 30's came of off the road bank! Although everyone used to say that the only place the 30's got caught from were by the water pump towards the far end!
Another good area to try is the Swims by the Golf course!!

Jutslut
18-07-2002, 16:43
oooer, i heard that both the 30's came from off the oaks!!!! /forum/images/icons/smile.gif still all the twenties i know about and have seen came from the rugby side or down by the outlet! - with that volume of fish can't see it makes that much difference at all

fishydave
19-07-2002, 09:03
No i'm sure they came from around "the stumps" swim on the road bank or at least one of them did!!!

Jutslut
19-07-2002, 12:35
wellll as long as you fish either the rugby bank or the roadside or perhaps the oaks and well who knows even the bird sanctuary, you should be in the best spot for a 30!!

fishydave
19-07-2002, 13:04
Can you actually fish down in the bird sactuary, fishing off the concrete bank!!

AndyR
19-07-2002, 13:35
No, you can't unfortunately, though wouldn't mind a go, as there are loads of fish in there !!. The nearest swim to it is just the other side of the rope, near the blue pump.

fishydave
19-07-2002, 13:39
Thats what i thought, although if you look in the rule book there isn't anything in there saying you can't

AndyR
19-07-2002, 13:49
I had noticed that one myself, but don't really fancy taking on those swans and geese, let alone the bailiffs !!!

As a Member of Broadwate, and someone who fishes it regularly, I can confirm that last year produced 3 seperate 30's and loads of high 20's.
It doesn't hold the biggest fish around, but you do have a very good chance of some reasonable twenties every time you fish it.
