Why is it that many of the new users give no details about themselves.
Most of the regular poster on this site have nothing to hide, so
No details, no answers?

It's a heinous crime against humanity and should be delt with accordingly!
alternatively it could be that there are so many [censored] on the site that they dont want anyone to know who they are so they dont get any grief
Still think you should be required to fill it in - what's the point of two people slagging each other off if neither of them know who the other is??? If you're going to have a go at someone and you know that they can see who you are , then it might make you think twice about it in the first place.
Make it compulsory.
At least their real name should be compulsary but at the end of the day those who don't want to will lie...
