how big did your bream go? there are some monsters in the big side...!

to be fair, there are specimens of almost every species in both kingsmead 1 & 2. most anglers seem to target the carp and pike, but i have seen large perch, eels, hybrids (i had a 7lb 8oz last year - looked like a roach on steroids!) and tench, although the only big tench i have observed have been on the big side. strange one, that...

biggest fish ive' heared is 38 ish leather thats been caught afew times over the years ,biggest common 32+ i belive, no names

Only small Bream I'm afraid, although did see some 'huge' slabs by the bridge on one of those rare sunny spring days. I'm pretty sure that I'm giving the Island another go next year, now that I've caught the fish I was after on the other lake I was fishing. Just worried about the lack of a boat but as I say if I can fish in a mobile way that may be some way to compensate for it.

That's one of my worries about the place. All of my time was spent there in the spring. I guess the problem is more apparent in the summer, as I generally fish on my own it does concern me somewhat as does car safety. Perhaps others can comment on this...

as a bailif on the cray the only problem was the kids fishing here there and any where they wanted , yes we did tell them very nicely that the best swim was on the big lake not on the cray,but so did the island bailif so they just kept going round in circules,there not realy a problem, the cars are alot safer in the kennal car park as theres some one in the office all day.
over the years i fished alot on my own there ,billy no mates me, i haven't had any problems with them,dont be rude to them just friendly and there ok

i haven't heard of people being battered or set on fire maybe a smoke screen to put people of,
its fine to fish from the island or bank if you want a chalenge go for it mate no agro down there
hot spots try the bridge area spring summer time the point (sailing club)again spring summer the swims behind the cray the catch alot ,if you want a walk try left bank there a couple of very good swims down there,pre baiting is worth it even along the over hanging trees up to the bridge the fish get in there on a good wind and spring time ,
best bait ,tigers fishmeal/bird seed ,if you have boat look on the third island facing out into the main lake superd plauto any more info e mail me
