fisherOFcarp,
I was told by one of the lads who worked for the gravel company that the bulk of carp swimming in the releif came from a stock pond when Landridge pit was completed.
There are a few lads who fished it when it was HallsAgg., that may know the true story.
Some of these fish also went into the pits, but they were not the original stock.

If any water held breeding carp in the years of 1976 and 1990 those 2 years were prolific for Carp breeding, if you manage to catch one of these 1976 fish which no doubt are in most unmonitored lakes anywhere could throw up a surprise...
I know of a few places which have some real big carp in, these waters were never stocked and are rarely fished by the serious carp angler. I have seen commons, wild ones in excess of 30lbs, never caught any of them.
Another interesting point, there was a fish kill at a Lake Called Norwood Lake in Croydon. A 34lb carp, a large catfish and a 30+lb pike were discovered. Bream to double figures as well... all these fish would have broken the fishery record and aledgedly never been caught. So.... don't think because monsters have not been reported that they do not live in there.

Scorpio,
After the big freeze up of 98 at a lake I fish in Northampton, a number of very big carp were found dead.
A 35 and 38 had not been out for four years and the members thought they had been stolen.
Even at Horton carp turn up after many seasons of not being caught, because you cant see them does not mean they are not there.

I see that most of the lake is out of bounds, why is this?
Is it a nature reserve or something?
Can you still walk it even though it is out of bounds for fishing?
Bacon.
If im thinking of the right lake then severval clubs own sections on it, if you want to fish it all you just have to join all the clubs and i think that this still leaves a little bit that is not fishable.

FisherOfcarp,
I think it maybe Trusport Angling who now run the bank oppersite Kings Weir, but over the years (30) Langridge has and is being fished by some of the top carp anglers around.
The 70 acre has a lot of water that is a bird sanctury and not accessable from the foot paths.
What it needs is a group of lads prepared to set a season aside to fish the 70 for the carp as they did years ago at Wraysbury.
