I'm getting a baitcasting rod and reel soon for lure fishing.
How small a lure can you use with a multiplier?

Depends on how you set the multiplier up and what make it is, line diameter etc.. I wouldn't go for anything less than half an ounce.

The rod and reel are masterline six shooters

In that case you should be able to cast anything with it within reason... just make sure you set the reel up properly.. I took the brakes out of my multiplier and re oiled it with rocket but that was for distance casting... if you find the reel is a bit sluggish private me and I will tell you how to adjust it.
