Why are there hardly any women anglers, is it because they don't like worms, maggots, peeing in the bushes or getting dirty? I don't think I have seen hardly any girly anglers.... I see a lot whilst game fishing in comparison to coarse fishing though.

i to have seen a few women anglers on the banks to and belive it or not a few can catch fish too.

seriously though i think they just don't like some of the facilities but it is a very interesting issue

That is down to their feromone things..... It's a know fact a good session with the missus the day before you go fishing not only makes you happier but you also catch a lot more fish.... well that was my excuse anyway /images/forum/icons/laugh.gif

Having taken the wife fishing on numerous occasions in the past, it can be a bit frustrating!!

Forexample, the questions and comments:

Why have you cast it there?
Why are you using that bait?
Can you re-bait / re-cast my rod?
Urgh its an eel!!
Can you land this and unhook it for me?
Where's the loo?
What was that rustle in the bushes?
Aaargh a rat!!
Ooh pretty ducks/swans/geese/coots/moorhens, have you got any bread to feed them?

Even after all that , I must give her her due. She came with me throughout one winter, just to catch a pike, which unfortunately she didnt manage to do.

And I must finally admit that she is a lot better than she used to be but still wont bait a hook or touch a fish!!!

Just dropped by and read all your thoughts on women fishing. Well we are a rare breed and you made some valid points about not wishing to dive in the hedges for a "pee" but then all you guys have to endure is going in the bushes maybe once or twice a day for a dump! Maybe if you were constantly stung or pricked on the [censored] (i'm gonna regret those words i expect) then you may not relish the toilet facilities so much!

Anyone notice how no fishing implements or anything associated with it is white?

It's so the women don't get confused with the fridge, washing machine etc etc....

It's the same reason women have small feet so as they can get closer to the kitchen sink.... ooops.... not really ladies... the British Salmon record is held by a girl and all those feromones you give off drive the fish wild....
