i would recommend you have a go for some of the K1 fish first. get some of those difficult beauties under your belt *then* think about the big side. gives you a chance to get the feel of whats going on.
at 60 acres and choked with weed at the height of summer, it can be a little frustrating on the big side. well worth the effort. every last bit.

I'm not sure where I'm fishing yet... Narrowed it down to about 3 possibly 4. Burghfield, Wrays 2 (again), Big mead or possibly theale or K1, although they seems a bit busy and (dare i say it /forum/images/icons/smile.gif ) overstocked! LOL. Any comments? I've been in a quandry since I had a look at the big mead, otherwise I'd have got a group ticket and been done with it.

It's not the common I'd be after. Bit to publicised for my liking. However, there are some other fish in there /forum/images/icons/wink.gif /forum/images/icons/wink.gif that look(ed) damn nice.

To publicised-its been in the press twice!
*scott*
yeah, but how many times do the words 'burghfield' and 'common' get used in the same sentence, especially on this site...?!
you even fell into that trap yourself!!!

Havin said that i'd say there is alot of anglers who have never heard of burghfield let alone the common.

Don't know why, just the way i feel about it i guess... now those frimley commons are a bit different (again, don't ask me why, i haven't got a clue). I have a feeling it's probably not wanting to go fish a water because of one resident, but liking the place and the fish(s) as a whole. IMHO to many people have a bounty hunter approach to places like that. (no offence meant to anyone after the burghfeild common at the mo)
