I've just got back from my first visit to the Sandhurst lake since the swim and path work started.
And all i can say is WOW, i take my hat off to all that have obviously worked so hard over the last couple of weeks.
The lake is a picture and the swims, path's are outstanding.
A big well done to the RMC & Sparsholt teams for making the venue look so good.
I can't wait to get the rods out, especially as its fishing its head off.

You'll always be allowed to do that Lew!
Can hear it echoing across the valley most weekends, thought it was the beast of bodmin at first, then remember it was Yateley's Louis Theroux himself! LOL

Dunno how it finished up looking but when i had a walk round a couple of weeks ago it was all in mid process of being "improved"..all looked a bit barbaric to me, does this mean more swims more money, concrete paths !! very carpy.

You have to understand though what would happen to the banks, swims and paths if the work hadn't been done, and then opened to the general public for day-ticket use, it would then be ruined and an eye-sore for sure.
I think its a good job, the bankside vegetation and trees have been left virtually untouched.

I hope your right cash about it being "needed" just when i had a ganders i saw red paint all over the show and the swim i was in that just about fitted an old tatty 50brolly in now looks like it could house a 12 man titan with camau netting.and i know there was quite a few spots where Troy HAD been keepin an eye on,we go down the next day and his spot in the margin is now a swim !! good anglin ?

NOT the corner swim?? Wasn't a swim before and it'll be a tragedy if its now a full on swim. Will have a look at the weekend.

dunno wot u mean by the corner swim..isnt there 4 of them ?
it's the left hand corner as u walk on to the lake via the nursery and down the side of the match.

Cash.....because it's gonna be day ticket, swims have to be able ,in some areas, to hold a massive double mansion dome that some like using....so, YES, some swims have been enlarged greatly.....Namely the corner swim you mean, (actually very nice for an oval now), the platform swim's not tooo bad, but the grassy one next door.....!!!!!!

Exactly! Not wishing to be that specific, but there is only one corner Troy baits, and you know that!

Wrong corner Smarts.
The "stalking" corner we are on about is the opposite corner, and already sits between 2 swims, either side of the banks, hence putting an extra swim in there would not be wise, the fish simply would not visit it again.
And yes, being day ticket the exisiting swims look fine to me, as i've already said.

Aiiiii...I know the whacker corner....I thought you meant 'Jedi's' corner.

Cash

You got it.
"Jedi's" corner is looking good. When they're in there you'll have a field day!!
I hear the fish-in wasn't that productive?

Would Sandhurst be a possible venue for the Yateley Fish-in being discussed elsewhere on this forum ?
How many could it accomodate?

Guaranteed income for RMC as well.

Entirely up to Ian, but it certainly has the room for enough anglers, and there are plenty of fish to go round, many, many stunning 20lb+ fish.

Lets get in on then. (I'm not volunteering to organise it all though, i will help out if required!)
First things first will be a list of who wants to go. I think the max. number will have to be 25, is this about max Ian?

Since when has the corner been named after me????? LOL!

But bags that spot for the social, I can sit in my corner and sulk about blanking!
