Im gonna be getting me first car come the end of the year fingers crost yipeeeeeeeeeeeee, and want something that can look good but accomidate my hobby, what car would you recomened!

It has to be a Vauxhaul Astra Diesel mate, I got a van version, it's crap but done 160,000 miles and still does 50mpg + go for the Estate version. There is no substitute for a first car....

By the way, mine cost me £400 2 years ago and I only spent £200 on it..... if you need one I can look for one for you but pass your test first mate.

Well I wouldnt advise you to get one like mine as a first car as I have a Volvo 740 and it drinks loads of fuel but I have it cos i think it is very safe for the kids. It does however take all my tackle easily even though i do have to push the passenger seat back for my rod bag.
The most economical car I had was an Astra diesal estate and that did loads of miles to a gallon and took all the tackle easily but it isnt too cool for a first car.
I would look around at insurance quotes first as my girlfriends son has just bought an escort and he is 23 and I couldnt believe how much he has to pay to drive it. Well over a grand third party only, so if i was you i would see what different cars will cost and then have a look round.

At the moment i have an Astra GSI, gets me to the lake nice and quick.

Hello guys,
I am looking for some new fishing transport at the moment - I have just scrapped my last car (super Fiat Uno) and my fishing mates 1956 beetle isn't really up for being a fishing vehicle! - If any one knows of or has a cheapish van they want to sell please let me know - I have been to the auctions at Blackbushe this morning but I really need something sub 2K - If anyone can help please let me know.

Mines an extaxi diesel sierra and it does one hell of a lot of miles,not only fishing but work as well.Got to be a diesel these days cos of the milage I do.Plenty of spares in the scrape yard which gets visited regularly as bits keep falling off or breaking.I've even got their phone number on the mobile.

I bought my 1.8 diesel Escort van privately for 2.5k a year ago, its N reg....you should be able to pick an M or N reg up now for about 2k....it does 40+ to the gallon...even the way I drive it!

It's got to be an Impreza turbo estate with full body kit and a phat sound system. Can't afford one, probaby never get one but I can dream.
otherwise an escort does the jod perfectly well.
i think i will go for a ford escort van get a really really cheap one 50 quid max that way i can get myself a nice bird watching car, and with me van go fishing!

I use my beaten up work van a transit, more than enough room ,two of my mates use their astra vans ,
Vans I feel offer more security from prying eyes.

seriously though i think people will just get p****d off if it continues. Although my dads mate who works at land rover told him that his car would wourk perfectly well on vegetable oil.

The best car at the moment is the Ford Fiesta Zetec-S. You will be able to get to the lake in a flash and they are wicked bird watching cars.

BMW 330 Diesel Estate does the Job for me, mind you the Volvo V70 2.3 turbo T5 are beasts aswell, Oh the joys of selling cars!

Tell you what mate, you can buy my Blue Whale off me for 300 squid (Volvo 240 estate/Tank!!). You can fit a Fiat Panda in the Boot, so there's no problem with fitting the kit in!!
