Went there a couple of years ago and all I did was queue for a couple of hours and still got nowhere near the front. Gave up in the end and went to my local tackle shop and bought some stuff to make up. All those that are going good luck !!!
Lofte mate don't turn up to early I know people on the stands they take the first lot of people for a ride they sell you stuff for a lot more after a while they will knock the price's right down.

Alex The Horseshoe hauler.
i dont want to sound a party pooper but getting back to the subject is the tackle on sale seconds?
Lofte
as i dont want to part with me hard earned money for it to break or soething after useing it a couple of times!
/images/forum/icons/smile.gif
Don't listen to Dave it is all old stock like last years rods and stuff.
Alex The Horseshoe hauler.
I went to the tackle sale a cople of years back and was quite happy with what I managed to get - I picked up a Shimano Pike rod for £90 (Symetre CK275) - an identical rod cost me £115 this year.
I also got a JRC hi-lux chair for £65 which I still haven't seen discounted this much.
If you do go make sure you haggle with the trader as most of them do want to shift whatever they have bought with them.
I won't be going this year as I am skint and also it is a very good time to go fishing as everyone else is at the sale!/images/forum/icons/smile.gif
Good luck and have fun in the queue!
Tom
The time I went a few years back, yes there was a lot of old/reject stock, but also a lot of good gear too...
A funny story from when I went.....We were queuing (even though we got there fairly early), and the queue streatched from the pavillion right across the bridge and into the car park. Eventually, a few people started to drift out, and walk past the queue on their way out with armfulls of goodies. This included a bloke, pleased as punch pulling behind him a cheap looking matchman's trolley...as he progressed alongside the queue, he was quizzed by all & sundry about what bargains were on offer, to which he held his head up high and said 'yes, there's loads of great deals....I just bought this trolley for just five quid!', with that one wheel decided that it would rather not be connected to the trolley & parted company, over-taking him, and rolling into the lake! Major embarrasment...there was now about 200 blokes laughing at his misfortune!
I have a funny story about the sale on the morning of the sale a mate of mine was working on one of the stools and they let the first man in and every one started getting ready to sell him tackle at a high price and he came over the stand my mate was on and asks for a spool of line so he could go fishing that morning and there's all these people getting ready to sell him rods and reels and all he wants is a spool of line every one was gutted.
Alex The Horseshoe hauler.
So how many of you guys went to the sale today and did you get any good bargins?
Alex.
Some nice bits of tackle there at good prices as well I picked up a Hutchinson bedchair brotel MK2 for £50 instead of £130 I got a Nash 52inch landing net for £29 instead of £69 I got a new unhooking mat/sling for £20 and I got 4kilos of Nash's Sting Fishmeal for £15. And watching the magician in the cue was priceless one kid ran away from him he was so rubbish.
Did any one else go?
Alex.

I was given two of them images in a frame for wining Horseshoe they gave them to the top three anglers.
