I've just booked thursday night on the South lake and was told that there had been a recent stocking but no one was sure of the fish (size, numbers?)
All I want to know is are they hungry?
Any one help?

i fished from monday morning to thursday evening.from monday to tuesday noon i had 8 fish from the point snag but only managed two more the resat of the session one from the nightmare and a 6lb 9oz tench from matts corner.i would advise you fish matts as i saw a few fish leaping before i left.if you go in the boss watch out for the pike that has been jumping and chasing fish around the left of the swim for the past 3 days!!!lol

I'm fishing the South towards the end of May. Having never fished there before, I've looked at all the various threads on the site for ideas etc of methods, areas etc.
One thing that I don't know how to get round, is what swim is called what. Everyone mentions different named swims, but as a new boy, how do i find out which one is which. Does anybody have a map of named swims etc that they may be willing to pm to me?
Any help would be much appreciated.

The swims are named, each swim has the name on a "sign" attached to the trees in the swim.

Don't be daft Chris, there's nothing stupid in asking what you did.
You don't know unless you've been there. Have a good time and catch a few.

Don't worry mate, I said it tongue in cheek hence the exclamation marks.

One of the things i like about this site is that you can ask whatever you like, and however stupid the question may seem to the person asking it, there is always someone out there who is prepared to give a sensible answer without questioning the intelligence level of the person asking.
As we all know, no question is stupid, if the person asking it doesn't know the answer. The only stupid questions are those thar are NOT asked!
Thanks for your reply, and hopefully I'll catch at least 1 to break a two year Carp blank.

Regards

Chris,
The BOSS will tell you, have some Cream Cajousers with you, a sure banker for a take on the South. (Providing your on fish of course) Use a single bottom bait, in a PVA bag of crushed Cajousers and trout pellet. Should end that blank for you.

Had a good weekend on the 'South' with me having 5 fish to 16 1/2lb and my mate taking 3 to 12 3/4 - both of us fishing the car park swims. One observation seems to be that most of the fish coming out are the new stockies with the average weight around 12lb. Heard that a 20 came out of the back bay on Saturday night.
