i assume as the fish are doing so well in the boat pool that they are starting to produce little ones, any signs of this yet ????
anyone caught any baby cats ?
also if all the members clubbed together to get a health certified albino would rmc be interested ???
would love the chance of catching a white cat and dont fancy jones anymore!!!!
what do you reckon,
guess it's a bit of a risk though baring in mind the caliber of the fish in there, maybe sparsholt could produce one with all the techincal gene bending knowledge ???
maybe they already have ???
andy
also one for the baliffs, can i upgrade to 4 rods from 3 at a later date or do i have to stick with what i paid for at the start ??
hello andy, indeed the smaller cats are there!
vince caught a 4lber last year, and northern james had a similar sized cat at the back end of last year. aah, bless, kittens!
100% english cats! RMC's finest!

is bob fishing it again this year as bet your bottom dollar he'll be the one to get the first 50.
and i wonder how many people will be on the bs bolilies as well, just a few i would imagine

what about the albino thing ???????
andy
Mr Coleman has got to be favourite for the first 50, but Vince and barry are not far behind!
Not sure on the Albino thing, I reckon leave it as it is. The cats have been breeding in the boat pool for ages and a lot of the 20's, 30's and even 40's I believe are from home grown stock! Fantastic water, I love the place!
Starman recently bagged a 37lb'er that was unmarked with a tattoo......so potential's there!
Sorry Son not me would have liked it but it wasnot me but a PB for our Northern member James
Starie
Oops.....Sorry, Starie.........just hyping the Starman name up for special privleges this coming season../images/forum/icons/wink.gif
Good luck on your Catfishing trip and I hope your winching arm recovers in time after spooling up with that rope!!
you should see the new hooklink material we got on sunday!
;)
i think the eye on the 4/0 is a *bit* too small. oh well, bigger hooks!
**sam**

Got back from the Boat Pool yesterday.
My mate, Tony Smith, had a brace of cats - first one 40.04 @ 11.30pm, second one was just over 20 @ 2.30am - hardly got a wink of sleep, drank too much tea and told too many yarns ! A top result though - he's over the moon.
Thanks to everyone who gave us tips, fished with, and who helped weigh and photograph them.
2 40's this weekend, and I think Bob had a 36 too!
Top fishing, Top Lake!

That's right Garth - Bob did have a 36 - he also lost another. And Vince did a brace as well so well done to him, too. Only his second ever brace and you know how long he's been fishing it ! Graeme lost one as well - took him into the reeds and that was that.

seem to be a lot of fish coming out for this time of year already compared to previous years ???
they all coming on livelies ???
andy
I think they are on the livelies......not 100%. I think on the trout too.
The cats are well active at the moment.....I left at 7pm yesterday and a few livelies were on their way out across the lake.....so here's waiting for the results......!

i assume long range off the main point are taking a few fish,
any other particualar spots taking them ??
wheres the beech swim ??
persoanl fav is the small point fishing towards the big tree's on the left looking out towards the lake,
is it fairly busy up there now ???
cant see me being there for another 3-4 weeks yet, still not been paid :-(
andy
Questions Questions!
Nine people down on Friday night, with fish coming from all over! The Beech swim is at the top left of the lake, as you look at it from the lodge end.

cheers Garth,
may as well find out what i can, i know which swim u mean now being the beech, never really fancied that one myself, maybe there is something there which i didn't know !!!!!!!!
see you down there in a few weeks maybe mate.
andy
Alright Andy,
Don't actually fish there any more, although I used too. I was down to fish Kingsmead for the night as guest.
There are quite a few bars in front and to the left of the beech swim, and I am sure it hold carp the majority of the time. For some reason I found the carp seemed to prefer the kingsmead bank, and although I had fish from the other end I saw and caught more fish at that end!
I'm new there, (first trip testerday). I'm led to understand that there are features such as bars all over the shop!
I was near the beech swim, but the carp were up at the lodge end....Doh!.....(couldn't get on them without compramising others).

from when i was on there the summer deffinatly moves most of the carp up the kingmead bank, their not afraid to take mixers and show themselves very well up that end,
i had good sucess as well fishing a few feet out from the margins as it must have the best looking margins swims i have ever seen,
there is also a very big bar system in the centre of the lake, pretty much in front of bob's swim,
in fact i would imagine thats the feature he fishes most of the time,
I'll show ya mate if we meet up there, first few times i could never find it, now i wonder how the hell i missed it as it's so big,
andy
Quite a few bars and humps at both ends, and the margins are well worth a go!
Aiiiiiiii!! Some very sexy margins.! It's always confidence building to have such deep margins.....but a bummer when it comes to hiding lines...Lol!
I'm up for anything that swims.....
the BEACH swim is so called cos its all gravel, like brighton BEACH.
there is a bar right in front and another bar that runs from the bank to your right. the carp sure do like that bank!
there are easy features to find in front of all of the swims. as you say smarts, the deep water in the edge makes for interesting line lay!

Oh no, the polar bear incident is out. It was a polar bear I tell you, honest /forum/images/icons/wink.gif.
Unfortunately, young Smarts also failed to bother any fish (although he probably startled a few when he discovered a slippery bit of bank and went in up to his knee)
Looking forward to getting back down there though, hopefully the biting North East wind will have swung round and will be a bit warmer next week, and I can have a bit more confidence casting out (weeeeeeeeeee-plop).
