the car park at amwell lake is it safe to leave your car in there over nite has eneyone had eney trouble with breakins to ther car while fishing there

Don't know what its like now, but I fished there a couple of years back.

Generally I'd say the car park is fairly safe, try not to make it obvious that yours is a fishermans car, and park in the middle bit, so plenty of people can see it, rather than right at the back nearest to the grass.
When I used to park there, I used to putr all my seats back up, headrests back on, parcel shelf back etc. so it wasnt too obvious. I even knew of one bloke who used to bring a kiddies car seat to leave in the car whilst he was fishing!!
Basically, just don't leave anything worth nicking on view!

Think in the two years I was there, I knew of 2 cars broken into, 1 car stolen and 1 car set on fire.
So, not bad statistics all in all!

it was a night mare my m8 had his van nicked and another had his car blown up virtually and melted the car next to his when i first joined amwell a few years ago we pulled into the carpark and caught 3 lads breaking into a motor we collared em and had em knicked sounds mental but true!
i havent got a ticket now but the council i believe have put cameras up and this has helped considerably.

I never had (or saw) any problems when I was there... my car was parked there every weeknight for 5 months.... never noticed any problems...
