Now you're here perhaps you can help /images/forum/icons/wink.gif. Tickets are on their way for Saturday, CAN'T WAIT /images/forum/icons/smile.gif. Those that know us (Jordan & I) know that we are VERY new to this game - We don't expect anyone to pour out their hard earned secrets but a few pointers would be appreciated.

Obviously there are 2 of us (4 rods), which swims will sensibly accomodate us?
We're thinking of a combination of YAC ASAP and particles (corn & hemp) are we on the right lines?
Can we nip down before Saturday and do a bit of marker research?
If yes which swims and roughly where should we concentrate our research efforts?

Loads on this in the archives geez.
Right, the point swim looking out to the back of the island is always a good bet for a couple of fish, make sure you land approx. 8-10ft away from the island though in the gulley.
Also off the end of the point fishing just off the end of the willow is a good bet.
Bait wise, yes what you've mentioned will work, however use small hookbaits and do not put in too many freebies, small PVA bags would be good.

almost forgot.matts corner can get a few people in.try infront of the gap in the trees on the left and the bar straight out.another good spot is the margin o/h tree to the right.last time there i had 3 6lb+ tench and lost a double allong with 5 double figure carp.as cash says,keep baits small and freebees to a minimum.i used 15mm rosehips and a few pouches of trout pellets.
