Popped over there this afternoon to ave a look.
The water level has dropped to a much more comfortable level, colour is still good and water temp was 46'F. Looks like all the crap has now been washed away.
Should be fishing 2morrow and Sat, but not Sunday going to have a look round Kingsmead.
Your all quite welcome for a cuppa - see ya there!

Funny story;
A few years ago I was the bailiff for a water here in Hastings called Buckshole and I often took my young daughter Frances with me on my rounds.We used to stop and talk and have cups of tea with the lads and eventually she got the nick name of "the Buckshole biscuit bandit" because she used to eat all the lads biscuits.
She had a good teacher.Hobnobs yummy.

Spoke to my mate 2nite (cornish), he didn't fish for long as he had a bit of a nightmare. He broke the top section of he's rod.
So if anyone out there has a spare top section for a John Willson Avon / Quiver let me know. - Thanks

Was just wondering what sort of rod you guys could suggest for the chub and the barbel on the river ?? I was thinking about a John Wilson Quiver rod and also was thinking about using 6lb Fireline on the reel. Any thoughts welcome.

Paulm

This is the rod that i use for the river and with the two different top sections is ideal for targeting the Chub and Barbel.
As for line when Chub fishing i'll use 8lb + 10lb for barbel. I use 8lb for the chub as i fish snaggy swims for them. (there ain't a tree i haven't been in, just ask Cornish)

I use the John wilson Qiver as well, excellent rod for river fishing for all species.... In some swims 6lb line will be not enough, 8 a minimum & 10 in snaggy swims.
