View Full Version : Yateley South
Is there still an alcahol ban on Yateley South lake and if so is it strictly enforced (i.e. is it aimed more at stopping people getting blind drunk). It seems a shame because in reading other posts it seems, like me, most anglers enjoy a couple of cans when fishing (particularly Stella it would seem) and this in itself would seem harmless as long as in moderation. I assume that any ban that is in place is a result of previous experience (litter, [censored] heads, etc)
i would have thought the "leisure sport angling-no alcohol on site" sign would be self explanetory!!!!

OK fair comment, just wishfull thinking I suppose.
i don,t think the rule is ther just to stop people having a drink its to stop people getting completely plastered and disturbing other anglers and falling over and being sick everywhere.also, being completely p****d could be potentially dangerous to anything you hook/catch,so basically r.m.c. are protecting their investments!!
p.s.i,m not saying that is what you and your mates would be like but one rule has to cover everybody.
e.g.baitboats were banned there because people were having races with them(how pathetic).

I suppose it is RMC having to put in measures to deal with the minority. While we all enjoy having a drink on the bank in moderation there are always the ar***oles who have to take it too far and ruin things for the normal sensible angler.
yes your irght its allways a small minority who spoil it for everyone.on this subject i,m a bit biast as i don,t drink!

Does the "no alcohol ban" apply to all RMC venues?
As far as I am aware it doesn't apply to all venues, maybe Ian can confirm. I have looked at the venue pages and there is no mention in the special notes section. I think that common sense on this issue is that (except for South Lake) as long as you don't get blind drunk on the bankside and make a nuisance of yourself or put the fish or other anglers in danger then you will be ok. Like I say this is only my opinion and I am sure that Ian can clear up any doubts on the RMC policy on this issue.
Sorry Ian - you beat me to it.
