View Full Version : Yateley South Lake
Ive been told that Mistrals Rosehip Isotonics have being doing well as have nutribaits stuff. Try pva bags filled with hemp pellets and a little bolie crumb with a single rosehip bottom bait inside. Cast this to the ends or just behind some of the bars and you want be far off.
I have just got back from an overnight session @ the South lake and managed to catch a nice common on Nutrabaits Cream Cajouser readymades (as advised by helpful staff @ Yateley AC) . I was talking to one of the baliffs and he seemed to think that it was as good a bait as any although he has been using Ice Reds. He also seemed to think that a fruit flavoured bait would be quite good.
Good luck down there
Tom

Yes it was and very nice they are too! /images/forum/icons/smile.gif The fish weighed 17lb 8oz and the rod bent right through - lovely! Can't wait to get a real big lump on them - should be fun!
Cheers
Tom
Well done Tom.....they do have an impressive battle curve....and have the most forgiving action....you'll struggle to pull a hook on them!
Pleased that you get on with them.
Simon.

Hi Motty,
I was down there on Wednesday & Thursday last week and it wasn't very muddy at all - we seem to be having our longest dry weather spell for ages so it shouldn't get any worse. I fished from the Boss swim which is on the spit that sticks out into the lake.
Cheers
Tom
what bait was you on?

Motty,
That was the swim to be in according to the baliff I spoke to. He had been fishing there all season and told me he had been doing very well - lots of fish - a few 20+.
I might have another go midweek - I'll let you know how I got on.
Tom

why is spring so productive ???
Lofte
/images/forum/icons/smile.gif
During the winter the natural food source is scarce, when the water temperature rises in March to April the weed grows, the aquatic insects mature so the fish go on a feeding frenzy... it is not so noticeable as it used to be as there is still a lot of bait going in but for the sort of fishing I do the Spring is definately the best time of the year for fishing.
