I`ve also heard that it was probably a big cat,
imagine if it was a monster uncaught carp!!!!.
20 hours - Bloody hell!!!!.

May uncaught monsters live on forever!

Are there many eels in the place ? I have just recieved my joining form and am like a kid on christmas eve. Can't wait to get down and start banging my head against the wall. I am interested about the eel stocks as I have a few ideas and these blighters could ruin it all. Looking forward to meeting everyone at the barbecue.

Regards

Hi Blankster.
I only joined this season and my first fish from there was?-you guessed it a bloody EEL!!.
And guess what i caught it on?- a Tiger nut, i ask you a bloody tiger nut, They eat anything!
I`ve heard they have a liking for fishmeal baits, so basically nearly everyones in with a chance of catching one.
See you at the barbacue

Hello you lot!

I too am joining Horton this year. Sent my cheque off yesterday... can hardly wait!
Popped down there last Saturday for a guided tour from Viv - what a fantastic place. The lake was stunning, facilities were excellent and the people very friendly.
Can't stop thinking about it now, and keep re-reading the Horton chapters from Dave Lanes book!!

I've read through all the info. on here which I'm sure will prove to be very useful.
It would appear that Cranberry BFM seems to be the going bait? Does anyone know if Activ8 has been used/hammered on there in the past?
Any other tips anyone can give me?

Looking forward to meeting you all at the BBQ....

i reckon whatever it is crawled out of the spring inlet and slithered back again afterwards to live 50 miles beneath the earths surface.

i saw a 30lb cat foulhooked in the tail played and landed within 20 minutes. bearing in mind phil used 11 foot rods and 8lb line, it could have been a big cat.

keep it mythical!
