i personnally love the south lake, most of the people are o.k. and the baliffs are brilliant for info.
i was lead to belive that there are about 50-80 20 lb+ fish but i think most are in the 12-18 lb bracket(well the ones i catch are).there is meant to be a thirty but a few of the baliffs doubt the capture(was told last trip).as for swims check out the archives and the other newish south lake post that iv,e contributed to.
as for tacktics use bait sparingly and stay away from large hookbaits.i found the best bait to be rosehip isos in 10 or 15mm critically ballanced over a small scattering of trout pellets.
if you need any more info give us a p.m. and call yately a.c.

The 30 was featured on this site in the catch reports last year.
No doubt, unless the weight was incorrect.

I was there the night it was caught, although I did not actually see the fish, I heard a shout go out & then I spoke to both the captor and a bailiff in the morning!

i,m not saying it was not 30,just going with the grapevine available at the time.saw the pic of the fish and to me it does not look 30. although,i have a picture at home of my p.b.common of just under 25lb and everyone who has seen it says it looks 40lb+,so looks can be deceiving!!!
