the other side of the dual carriageway. if you can find a space, park near the station, walk across the tracks, over the bridge and (apart from the big one you can see straight away) the lakes are to your left in amongst the trees.

i'm sure there must be parking at the other end of the complex, but i have always parked near the station.

unbelievably weedy at the moment too! massive weedbeds of fresh new weed, ranging from between light bottom stuff to four foot deep, absolutely stuffed full of food.

this was during the freeze...!

This is my first post on here.

Anyway, moving on. Pit 4 is a brilliant lake. i first fished it about 7 years ago (was one of the only one carping it - Nigel Sharp was the other). I caught quite a few commons off the top up to 14lb. Then suddenly the fish grew like nutters!! I reckon there is up to 350 carp in there, with well over 50 odd 20's. It is the perfect lake to produce good fish - deep, clean gravel pit teaming with life. Pit 4 will have a good future. As will Pit 2, that has done a similar thing to Pit 4, but not as many big fish - Yet!
