Is any thing going to be done about the ford fiesta that has been parked in the stream. It has been there since before christmas . Is this a rmc matter or is it a council matter as it is on the public footpath side?
I think that it would not take much to pull out, if the a few anglers of k1 and the baliffs got together and worked as a team . if it is grounded it only needs jacking up and putting on boards then it would come out. If not surely the people in the yard would let us borrow there mini digger for a couple of hours on a saturaday or sunday when it is not being used .
I was down the lake the other day and some one was walking around summing the place up but he was REALLY put off by seeing this.
To stop this in fucture there could be a style put across the footpath or a small strong fence down by the side of the river to stop this.

On a different note any carp come out of the mead rencently i have had pike so far but no it is warming up the carp tackle will be going out ?
All the best

do you wish to buy the car? if you put a style in how do you get your wheel barrow over it , put a fence up which will cost 2-3 grand for what , to stop the local kids nicking cars and dumping them in a river or stream it won't , there just go straight throught it , if people are put of buy a car dumped in a stream then theres a problem with there views of what and how much a company can do rmc in this case , there is two locked car parks avalible to put your mode of transport , not down the lane or on the mud patch between the cray and mead 2 , what about the cars dumped down the car park on the corner dose that put people of , also there is a lock on the gate buy the house which if locked would stop this problem , dumping cars is a problem all over the place and that car is down to the council not rmc , as to whats been out odd carp but being kept quite

not wishing to split hairs (!) but taking a barrow past the burnt out fiesta (i think it's been torched, although ford did do a colour like that in the eighties!) would be pointless because of the bridge (without runner boards you can't get a barrow up the step easily). so a style wouldn't put an angler out too much...

i do agree, though, the kiddie winks will continue to nick and dump cars at lakes, regardless of the counter measures taken. the simple fact is, lakes are generally dark, quiet and devoid of people - the perfect place to dump a motor without fear of being spotted.

the cars parked in the car parks at kingsmead are *relatively* safe, AS LONG AS YOU DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN THEM. i cannot emphasise that enough. every year i speak to people who have had stereos nicked from their cars. if you leave your stereo in your car, you are asking to have it taken. it is risky leaving it in even outside your own house, let alone in a dark car park in the middle of nowhere.

Only a suggestion, thought it might be a good idea just to pull it all the way out. If petrol/ brake fluid etc leaks into the stream this could have a detrimental effect on both the fish and their habitat. Both Kingsmead 1& 2 would be effected by this.

yes your right about oil brake fluid petrol it is a problem and maybe the bailifs can pull it out if not maybe adrian and his 4+4 pick up could pull it out , sorry horse i didn't see this problem untill the very nice mr bazza pointed it out.

i'll be down, but i won't be fishing. it doesn't sound like i would get a swim anyway - 30 swims, a million people, not really my cup of tea when fishing...

from a social perspective - fantastic! beer, food and more beer...

Bazza,

May be a great time to fish Kingsmead during the aftermath after all that bait has gone in eh? /images/forum/icons/smile.gif

as good as it sounds, the bait will have been put in all over the place. i would imagine that there will be a few different types of bait going in, and it will be interesting to see on what and where the fish are coming out. everything and everywhere probably...!

i'm keeping my eye on you guys not specifically carping. always good to broaden my horizons and see if i can pick up a trick or two.

at this time of year the main obstacle i face is time. i do professional exams in may, so time becomes very limited after march 1.

see you down there.

my swim will be free! i bet a bag of boilies!

im not dangling either, too much pressure, too many lines.

speak soon mr bazz, wanna buy a fiesta? 5 quid?

the pikeys have been doing that stuff for *years* mate, no amount of fences will stop them. 9mm slug maybe, but fences, no.

me and starry will earn some cider money from the scrap man if nothing is done i suppose.

skunkerdoo mate!

From what i have seen the water does not get that much pressure. It's like everyone say people come and have a go get board because you have to do allittle work for the fish that you catch then they move on.
Still plenty of nice fish to catch ive had none yet but ive seen them from the bridge.
Every swim has it's features plus loads of margins to fish. each swim has space and is away fromt he next so you aren't in each others faces.

the place is cracking. just get over and fish it. you will not be disappointed.

(its all the hard work we have done over the last few years that has made it accessible at least)

most island anglers dont have much in the brains department to pick!!

not really. its a different ball game over there, a different class of angler altogether. hard work, but well worth it. i have dabbled, but prefer to fish the small side. i have a few years, but i need to keep sane.

sam-you-elle!

what's all this i hear about you and pit 4? abandoning horton already? give it time, and i'll be wandering the other side of the bridge i'm sure. four years of blanking should drain the enthusiasm out of me and allow me to pick up my golf clubs again...!

ubereinstimmung es wahr, say the German Carp Heritage Organisation...
