How do people rate them? Are the 2lb 9oz very soft? How do they rate against Century or x-flites?

Any info much appreciated

TH rods, top notch kit fella. Reliabe and well crafted. Good for all round fishing. Can't really comment on extreme range angling, but Margin work and up to 100yds i have had no dramas.

What tc are the ones you have. I have 2.75tc at moment, and was also wondering if 2lb9oz may be a tad light

Chubby,

I have the 2lb 9oz, i've had no probs with them mate, ideal for my tactics. Don't really fish the method or large PVA rigs, so can't really comment on that type of fishing. But for leads up to 4oz and small Funnel Setups. No probs.

Like silk in you fingers.

Regards

pukka rod all round
i have used them at exreme range with a boat, and braided mainline and they are awesome.
as said for normal 0-100 you will not find many better rods IMO.
i have never dropped a fish with them in the 4 years i have used them.all the waters i have fished have been big and weedy. they cope well with weed, and they are a good rod to snag fish with, they have enough power to stop a fish without damaging it. bags and methods are no probs if you dont go mahoosive.
no such thing as the perfect rod, but this one comes pretty close. i cant see me using nothing else for a long long time.

As i have said it between the x-flites and these

hi chubby. I looked at all 3 rods you mention. The X-flites and ESP rods are very nice, but if you cant stretch your budget to the Centurys I would seriously consider buying a set second-hand as in my opinion they are the best Rods out of the 3. Had some NG's for a couple of years now and they a handle beautifuly. I own the 3.5tc ones and they feel like a 2.75 tc rod. They look understated as well (not like the FS's - even though they a awesome rods). I could not imagine owning rods from any other rod maker now!

can anyone compare esp 12,6 3 1/4 with ng 3.5 for me please pros and cons of both,ie esp is better for pva bag work etc,i dont want to shell out on the wrong rod now do i.....

I have to agree with this man...

I have never used the ESP so I can't comment (although I'm sure they are good) I have never had any probs with my NG's....I have them in 2.75 and they are perfect....Very slim blank, good action. At first they seem floppy, but they soon show you they are fine to chuck a lead...

Tight lines

how would you rate the esps 3 1/4 against the ng 3 1/2 what are they both like for casting, method balls, pva bag work????,i have been offered a set of ngs second hand, but i do like my esp's,the only difference i can find is that the esp has a stiffer butt section,so it might be better suited to chucking??? i havent had a chance to whack a ng,anyone help????the ng seems a bit softer than the esp..what a nightmare what to do......
