Now for a sensible response that actually answers your question...

Have a look at the ones the Tackle Box do. I've got one of those but I got it from Makro and paid about £17 for it. I've got a little colour tv which saved me from going mad sitting through long, dark, cold nights every weekend on my own all winter long. I never use it very much just catch the weather and match of the day, so it would last 3-4 weekends on one charge.

If your anywhere near romford then go to "KenLees" in north st. They do quite a few.

@ carpycris. Maybe somepeople like to charge their phones without having to walk a mile to their car for some theiving c*nt to nick it. Or they could just be like me and want to watch big brother.

if you wanna charge your phone they sell wind up chargers or tiny key ring power packs for em. but the prospects of watching big brother on the bank are hard to resist i must admit. especially if you could take your sky box and watch big brother live on E4 24hrs a day. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
seriously though power packs on the bank. the only reason i can see as a possibility for needing one is for a bait boat

can you run 12volt lights off of these? My garage doesnt have power in it and it would be handy to have some light in there for unloading at night. Do 12v lights bright enough to light a garage?

happyhammer

Wayne, how about hanging a camping gaz lantern from a beam? Really bright and with a powerpack, the charge gets weaker even without use. For limited use this would be better.

those tiny gas lamps are seriously powerfull and much more compact aswell

You would be able to run a 12v light off the power pack I've got, whether it would be bright enough to light your garage I don't know I'm afraid.

Yawn. My TV saved me from going mad last winter, which I probably would have done after 42 nights November to March on my own. How much time did you do, out of interest? Match of the Day on Saturday nights made those long hours of darkness infinitely more bearable and kept me awake until 10:30pm listening for fish instead of succumbing to the warm sleeping bag at 8pm like I probably would have done otherwise.

I would get a leisure battery from Maplins,Halfords etc
Loads better than a power pack especially for bait boats and cool boxes

Carpycris,

If anglers want to power a tv, charger, electric cooker, hi fi system, karaoke machine etc and it's not visible or audible to others, then why not? Our sport can be long and lonely and any fool can be uncomfortable and a hero if they like, it's down to choice and at the end of the day, I'd take all my home comforts if I could power them. I read on the bank as well so I'm not knocking it but to sit on this forum and attempt to take the "P" out of people for not living SAS style is a bit out of order mate. Do you sleep on the floor under a small ladies umbrella mate because believe it or not, your bedchair and bivvy are comforts that you could quite easily catch fish without, it's just about being happy on the bank really isn't it? I'm not having a go but somebody else would have said it if I didn't.

fair enough but its a bit ott needing electricity on the bank. ive seen guys turn up with tv's laptops playstations and even a small microwave on some of the day ticket waters round here. we had one guy turn up for a week in the summer and effectively make his own village. he even had a fridge in one of his 3 bivvys needed to house all his "comforts". why do people need their mod cons 24/7 even on the bank is the point im making. fair enough if you wanna stay 5 star on the bank but it really doesnt appeal to me. i travel as light as i can and still carry too much. yes its not a problem if it doest disturb others but all too often it does and to every one person who uses stuff like a small tv considerately theres another 10 who act like [censored] and cause havoc.

What is wrong with taking a laptop fishing, I knowa few people who write a lot of articles on the bank, so why not do it on a laptop?
Far easier thatn writing it all by hand, only to have to re-write it all again when you get home.
The only reason I don't take one is because I dont have one.

I'm glad I don't fish your waters then mate. You're missing my point, while I agree with you travelling light, I just don't think it's fair to slate people who want to be comfortable. I dare say that these lot will travel light if needs be, I will but on some waters I know when I'm in a decent spot and if I'm there for a few nights I'll be cosy. As for your last sentence, the same could be said for everybody with a set of alarms or a small radio and that pretty much includes us all.

. . .Halfords . . .Get the pack with the most amp hours if you want to run telly's/laptops etc, I think the latest version is 20 Amp Hours . . .

I've also got a compressor on mine, which helps to blow up the dinghy when necessary . . .

Cheers, Belch
