Forum Freeze

Hi all
Just wondering if any of you are having the same problem as me?
Whenever i come onto this site, the last, at least 10 times....it tells me that there are no new posts/replies, and no new posters....therefore i cant view new posts.
Either its something to do with my computer, or that no1 has posted, which id find very hard to believe as this is one of the best and most popular fishing websites!!
Can anyone help?

Hi JC,

You may well be caching old pages... what does the date and time say on the main forum page when you login?

Try deleting your history and/or temporary internet files...

Have you lost your auto login details from your PC..or remeber to 'refresh' the info..Does it 'welcome' you.....

from what I know about these types of Forums (not a lot admitedly) they use cookies to highlight which posts are new, new messages etc etc....
it is possible not to store any cookies in ya pc.. maybe this is the prob ... its under tools, internet options in IE 6 maybe your settings need tweeking?

all activity just stops then you get about 100 messages all at once as it "unfreezes" thought it was just me (always abusing my impressive?? 56K line trying to get 150 meg MP3's via FTP) but last night I was just using the forum and nuffin else and it still happened??
rebooted and it still happened... there were about 12 in there from what I remember....
any answers boyzzzzzzzzz? ?

all chat rooms have these ptoblems in the trade it is called lag, when the server momentarily freezes, it's a common fault that will happen from time to time.

I've had the same problem a couple of time! but it always seems to be when I leave the forum open but minimized, if i log out and log back on again it seems to clear the problem!

Are you sure it's the forum freezing and not your server? When it freezes next time try to load a page up that you don't have in your history, if you get an error you know it's the server... used to happen to me all the time when I used dialup... it can also be down to the phone line too....

If it's not that I aint got a clue as this forum has only frozen on me once in the last 3 months or so.

i registered a new suer-name, signed in on that...then back onto Johnny_Carp, and thats sorted me out....
ill just keep having to do that in future....cheers!
