Alright Jim!
Nah, blanked again! Did friday morning till yesterday afternoon, pretty cold with nothing showing.
Had a look in the log book and I think it was November the 1st when the last one was out!
Aparrently no-one has been fishing for the last 5 weekends on the trot!
I had the whole lake to myself, which was quite nice!!

The old Horton shut up!
Always does it, get back on at the end of February for when it switches back on!!!
people, we seem to be forgetting the starmans contribution to hortons winter spell - the parrot surfaced!
anything is possible...
Again though that was February, i think it was the 02nd or 04th. TOP capture for that time of year on here.
Keith James had one of his 30lb commons last January when there was a mild spell, other than that its not worth it.
Stay in the warm

Starrys capture of the Parrot was amazing, I was actually in the next peg, but although it was early February, the weather really was exeptionally mild. We were all wearing teashirts that morning. Craig Welch had had 4 stockies from 1 peg up, and lost a lump after Starrys capture. The odd fish will always get caught through the winter on Horton, but do not kid yourself its going to be easy, its not, and a lot of good anglers have tried.
The problem is I think the water is so deep, and the fish sit mid water for a lot of it, making bait presentation avery difficult and a bit of a lottery.
A remember a few years ago an eco sounder was run accross the lake to try and locate the fish for sure, but this still did not help.
I am not saying dont give it a go, I did, and the atmosphere and social side were brilliant. The rewards are there, but you have to tackle it with a certain frame of mind.
