I am going up Yately way in my school half term soon and I have decided to give Frimley a try for the week.
Ive never been there before and want to know which lake offers me the best chance of 2 or 3 runs in a week with the chance of a 20 or upper double. I know the 3 has some nice fish but im ont sure how hard it fishes in the winter, could I have a bit of info on it and also the 1 and 2 are a possiblity but I dont know much about the size and stocks.
Also could I have a bit of help on any going swims/ methods etc.
Any help much appreciated!

i have been told (by another angler, i should add) that the thirty in pit 1 is no longer. i don't know how true this is, but it was a regular to the bank by all accounts. any bailiffs care to elaborate on this story?

pit 2 should give you the best chance of a fish - the swims between pits 2 & 3 are very productive. the fish swim through the channel between the bank and the island and can often be tempted. afternoons seem to be the best time on pit 2, and all my fish from here have come to pineapple/opal mainline readymades (high leakage).

pit 3 is a bit trickier, but fish are regularly caught. tails up pro-liver is a proven bait on this lake, so would be a good starting point. i would start in the margins, but keep your eyes open for movement and move to where the fish are, especially at this time of year.

Chaps,

The 30, 'Lucy' died a death about three years ago. It was full of water and was last out at 36lb. I didnt believe it and me and a mate fished it hard for a season and caught most of them in there and not once did we see 'Lucy'. One evening in the winter i caught a fat mirror which I though was it! But it turned out to be a fish called 'Mary'!! which weighed about 18lbs. (didnt weigh it - just put it straight back as it looked a bit stressed).

Hope that helps.
