Hiya,
Can any of you tell me of some of the fish that live in this lake please. I have been told of the ones that are in the venue report and a couple of others but I thought it would be interesting to see if any of you knew or had seen any others.
Thanks in advance,
Andy
andy, with out giving to much away ,there is a big leather at 38 it came out this year a nice linner if its still in that side a real grower at 28+ a few 30+ commons and then the myths or legends in the waiting . when the fish deaths came 2 years ago about 4 -5 30+ died ,there is also a mid 20 kio hope this helps a bit
i saw a (the?) linear from the bridge last summer and it was definitely bigger than 28 (looked nearer 38). it was leading a shoal of about four or five smaller fish to mid twenties. there are stories told about uncaught monsters, and if the size of the bream and tench is anything to go by there is probably a sixty swimming in there!
a very rich water...

Kingmead island lake sounds amazing, but it doesn't seem to get as much attentionas some of the other big fish waters like Wrasbury 1 etc. why is this, is it beacuse its rock hard or what? the fish seem to be spotted quite a lot.
I`ve heard theres one or two uncaught monsters in there, possible record beaters! what do the syndicate members think or is it pointless asking?

I've only just got a ticket so I havent got a clue yet apart from what has been said here.
those fishing the small side may appreciate this...
to give you an idea of the calibre of angler fishing the big side, i have been told /images/forum/icons/wink.gif that 67 of the escapees have been put back - by one angler! this is from a water which is nearly double the size of the small side. could you imagine what it must feel like to catch 67 kingsmead carp in one season? puts most of us to shame, really...
Very good angling but i recon that carp that are put into a water get really confused and are easily tripped up. But to get 67 carp from 50+ acres in such a short time was a great result.
Keep it real
Sam
ps did any of the carp from the big side go into the no 1 lake?

No body knows
ians right theres one man on there that will catch those big fish no ifs he will ,theres has been some real top anglers on there 2 are john holt and nigle stock also ladders and richard round head and also sir pete springate and also tench bloke ,unfortunatly theres alot of big names waiting to see the big ones out before they move on there , how big those fish are is any ones guess all i would say is watch this space if they come out it will be on here first.
Is a boat essential?, or do alot of fish get caught from the banks, is it worth getting one to fish the islands. Do many people fish the previously out of bounds areas much, because there aren`t many swims around there. I would of thought that would be the area for some of the more elusive fish, because alot of it is untouched or am i wrong?
