They look ok - work ok - sound ok - but there is something about them that make them the 'Jade Goody' of teh bite alarm world..... LOL - is it cos i am a minger?!? http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
yeah i must admit i have NEVER seen anybody using them.. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
i reckon they look quiet good, but unsure because ive never seen anybody with them to ask an opinion lol..
jade goody... shudder .... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Cash must have seen this by now http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Maybe i need to fine down.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Just a rollerbuzzer in a different case aint they?????

i'm sure i saw an ad. for them that said they can be used underwater!
LOL - yeah that was it - someone said they'd be great for guesting for that reason - just how anyone would hear em when they're submerged is a bit perplexing...LOL http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
To be honest i thingk they are a reliable buzzer - just about as good looking as Cash...... now if tehy where based on Girth they would have much broader cross-sex appeal....LOL http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
That will make a few lucky people giggle i hope..... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
...they do work underwater....totally waterproof!
Silver & shiny....a unique 'look' in a quirky way, (rather like the old eyesore Delikims that I use!), but 100% reliable.
Like the Nevs....they make noise and have no volume adjustment.....trendy!!
sound like there upto the job then lol... as i thought they would be http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif lol.
ill have to have a butchers at some in the flesh and then decide.. could be the only person with in a 30mile radius to own a set lol

Whats wrong with the ones you are using know??
i might give them to my old man, so i could be looking out for some new ones, and was considering the tlb`s
LOL Lewis you master wordsmith http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Youve tried fining down, hows about putting one of those HBS pop ups on, thats bound to get you a take.
Ref the buzzers the only people Ive ever seen using them are kids, theres prob nothing wrong with them but theyre not the best in the designer looks stakes, not thats matters of course- MUCH!

they dont look very 'sharp' to me and i'd personally favour nev's
would they work underwater with a sounder plugged in running into the bivvy?
the design was (i'm pretty sure) before Cash's arrival at the Gardner empire.....
is Girth Mr Ecclescake or whatever from "flitting around with...."?
in which case I think Cash is much better looking...
(and possibly a little less loved http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif )
You what - Girth was voted favourite page 7 fella by the all 'male welsh choir from Swansea' visiting the Newbury area last month (for the 4th year running) - now that would seem fairly conclusive to me!!!!
LOL - Cash better looking than Girth - I've heard it all now!!! LOL
http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
When you've seen a semi naked Cash walking down teh Blackwater footpath you wouldnt ague this ever again (I have - and had to point at his little bellie button and laughing ask Mrs Cashie how she could be seen in public with a belly like that!!!' !!)
LOL
He's lovely - but compared with Girth he's a minger!

did Girth go down well with the Welshmen due to having a wooly back? http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
your knowledge on naked forum members never ceases to amaze me Lewis.... what do you do on those quiet CP nights whilst waiting for a bite?
i have thankfully not seen either in any state of undress for comparison so cannot defend cashy any further!
is your marriage and daughter 'story' just a myth to lure these impressionable boys into your 'titan'? http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
LOL
NBob you cad! Dont ruin my cover story...... oh - and i save this kind of deviant behaviour for when im naked Barbel fishing LOL LOL
Ooooh - what a scary thought!!!!
Just one thought thats worse..... Girth naked - only wearing a pink ribbon http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif holding hands with Cashie....watching the isotopes slowly bouncing on the end of there 'tamers'
LOL LOL
Bless yer, who cares how I look I go home to an absolute darling every night! http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif Your only jealous of my slender physical apperance.
As for the buzzers, they may not be *trendy* but they are culty. Yes they're reliable, yes they work under water, yes I use them (why shouldn't I) and yes they do the job. Roller buzzer, no volume, on-off switch and works with various remote systems if you want it too.
They do the job, that's all that matters ain't it.

ooohh - and i thought i'd done well with the double-entendre!
as you know the two more intimately than I there will be a much more vivid mental image, and not a pleasant one!
one question though - is your dream in the winter or the summer? as atmospherics would have a part to play....
ta very much thats all i needed to know, and it dont hurt being a bit different aswell lol, better than same old.. same old lol
as for the other stuff errrr.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif lol
yes they are reliable, yes they work underwater and yes they do the job very well indeed.
and another yes, a girth is preferable for warmth on a winters night than a cashy. at least a girth doesnt require invites for tea.
lew lew, please refrain from telling them all about the naked barbel exploits. i dont want all our secret barbel taming methods made public. anyway, some of those south facing swims on the pats are right sun traps.

> As for the buzzers, they may not be *trendy* but they are culty
So the definition of "Cult" these days is.....
.....as used by Des Taylor in the Baitboats in Action video?

You mean there are buzzers more 'cult' than Nevilles.....
aaarghh... why did no one tell me about this.
*sells Nevilles in bid to be hip and cool*
LOL - Cult - yep - thats the proper use of the word - you look a right 'cult' when your using em!!!! LOL

I'll stick with the nevilles.

http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.giflol
Obvioulsy I am then Lew!
Just because they don't look like a Neville - oooo I ain't in the clique, my buzzers don't look cool - i won't catch any carp because my buzzers aren't the *bomb*.
Do me a favour, believe it or not the TLB's actually sell extremley well. It's also an area thing, yes Yateley is predominantly Nevilles, but the south coast we sell loads of TLB's, Essex is probably Fox etc etc etc.
Cash
Tim Lee Buzzers after the guy that designed and makes them.
Cash
Humour Cashie - my names not RIF remember...LOL
Oh and i think you look very ultra CULT!!!! http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
No rude words there are there!!!!! Some poeple have filthy minds........ http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Cash has just reminded me of something funny re: the Yateley gear clique.
At the Stoney weekend - I walked up the bank to the left of the CP lake as you look at it from standing in the Carp Park.
Got to one of the end swims and there's a set of ESP T.H. rods, on Neville Stainless, with the front bar in the water and the butts resting on the bank with the staging left clear.
The rods had Tournies attatched, the bobbins were Neville PTFE's, the Bivvy was a Dillo, with a Mk 4 Porter parked by it.
So I'm thinking "ooh it looks exactly like Tenchy's set-up when you see it in the magazines.....it must be him"
.....except it wasn't Tenchy at all apparently http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Raised a dry inward smile to myself.
I'm with Cash on this one. IMO they are pukka looking buzzers.
Two words spring to mind re: all these nev users - sheep/lost http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Give me individuality any time http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I had some of the original ones, no on/off switch volume or anything else and had to be used with a sounder box but alas one of them packed up after many years service so at present i use 2 x MX's and 1 x magnetonic - pukka (they work), but when i need some more they will be my first choice.
I have 4 TLB's. Had them since they 1st come out, no problems, not had to change the batteries or anything great little alarms... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Are the gardner tlb's a renamed AVA alarm??
That name rings bells from back in the day.
What did they look like / which names used them Huggy?
I thought AVA were a name to themselves. The alarms were very similar if not identical to the TLB's (going from memory).
Just thought that with AVA no longer about that maybe Cash had bought a cheap stash off the back of a lorry and was flogging them off for a tidy profit under the Gardner label. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
NorfolkBob

no names used 'em! or maybe Andy Little did!
they were very small heads that had batman ears on the back with holes drilled in.
NorfolkBob
05-10-2004, 15:17
no they were different to the TLB's. AVA's had the main rod rest ears connected to the back and i think they had to be used with the sounder?
I can almost remember them.....really frustrating - like when you forget an Actors name, but can remember the film and what they look like http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Give Cash his due - these aint nowhere as bad as AVA's... LOL - with that shiney stainless backplate glowing across the lake.........
almost as bad as the silver Noshy / Snevilles.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
[to tune of Grandad - imagineing me stood in little pleeted dress with curley ginger wig sucking a lolipop and looking cute!] Cashie...we love you.... Cashie we do... even though your far away....
> imagineing me stood in little pleeted dress with curley ginger wig sucking a lolipop and looking cute!
I'm glad Tadpolepat is temporarily out-of-"service" at Uni http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
See Lew you 'dis products without knowing them properly!! The TLB's were around long before I got here.
I changed the stainless back plate immediately to a black back plate!
Cash
Re read my post nutter!!!! I am agreeing with you....LOL DEERRRRRRR

I had a set for 2 years and never had an issue with them, great little alarms :)
had four of the tlb's for a good few years now - have been very pleased with them. reliable, simple on/off switch and with blue led's the bizz.
fished in all weathers and never had a problem....well worth a look imo

Had em a few years ago, very reliable. Seem to remember they only had 2 magnet rollers and they couldnt be changed to 4 magnets.
