any one kno wanything about the warickshire avon around marcliff? catch reports,baits and swims?

That would depend what you are fishing for?! Barbel I presume? The usual barbel baits and tactics work around marcliff. The locals tend to use halibut pellets a lot. And they get 'em too.

Friday, after the rain, the river was rising quickly and had an extra foot by the time I left, but I'm sure that will have run off by now.

Fished the river at Harvington last weekend.Gin clear and very differcult.Biggest fish to 34 of us was 5lb.

me and a freind had some lovely barbel up to 8lb from marlcliff.where the arrow joins is popular.anyone had a carp from this stretch?

That swim gets absolutely hammered. From the Salford priors side.

No penny, not caught or seen any, but stories abound of old boys and doubles.

Will have to get back on the flowing water soon http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif I take it its flowing again now??

hello mate,yes i've only been down there twice but it was allways rammed with anglers.ive been going further downstream to the quieter spots and doing ok.think ill move on to deeper quieter spots next time.one day i want to get a river carp but getting a bit sidetracked by those lovely barbel.it was up in water last week but ill know more tomorrow.

barbel of around 5 and 7lb and a chub.my mate had a 8lb8oz barbel and a gudgeon.abbots salfordish.

Hi All,

Fished tonight, upsteam of Evesham, water temp 45.f with slight tinge of colour.


1 Chub of 5.04(P.B for the W/Avon), well pleased.
