View Full Version : kingsmead work parties
yes yes its that time of year again. time for all us hard working bailiffs and fisheries development people to don the gardening gloves, shield our eyes from the glow of the fires and chop and slash and burn half the lake and surrounding vegetation.
just to let you all know we are starting work THIS SUNDAY on the old out of bounds swims. due to FNG's moaning last year about the work, im trying to get a bit of notice in here.
all those that choose to fish the swims by the horton gate *will* be disturbed by us lot raking and chopping felled trees. as well as burning them off. you have been warned.
we all work hard to help make kingsmead one of RMC's premier waters. at least on a level with horton and the boat pool! please help us by being tolerant of the work parties, even lending a hand would be much appreciated!
more details when we know whats happening. (could be a long wait!!;-)
litter, i know i moan, but is there any need to drop empty packs of deadbaits? it is definately group ticket pike anglers. if caught, you will be off. no warnings.
thanks everyone, happy new fishing year, may it bring you all shiny new personal bests!

I walked round Kingsmead today and apart from I did think i wished i had one of those pairs of long tree loppers to get a pike bung and a rig which was hanging up in a tree above one of the swims down. I thought it was a lovely place. I hadnt been there before you see. Cant wait to fish there.

I will hopefully start catching them eventually oh master of the forum dont you worry about that lol Then we can see some piccies of these beauties.
As most of you are after the carp on Kingsmead can you tell me any secrets about the Tench & Bream on there?? Is it beast to bait heavy and fedder fish over the bait or take the close in approach at night with loose feed and a float?

Ian,
Sounds like you've done all the work, but I suppose I best come and check.
Steve in pink? it is an unpleasant thought, my fragile eggshell like mind is now contaminated.
Eric.

You may well do as I intend to start on there soon. I can only do short sessions of around four to five hours depending on traffic in the weekday mornings but as I do most of them during school times I will seem to be there a lot to some and some will never see me. lol One of the pains of being a single dad.
Take care,
Andy

I wish I'd caught one of these big bream that are so easy, I never got a sniff of one and the only guy I saw fishing for them didn't do as well as he was hoping either (over several sessions).
get on the sweaty grange - they love 'em!
sam-you-elle, all those orange ESP marker floats knocking about down there are mine. keep your mitts off...!
